Yesterday America announced that it was going to shoot down an errant spy satellite in order to prevent the fuel from becoming a toxic cloud.

Today several countries are screaming about America's "Anti-satellite capability".

C'mon people. Did you really think we couldn't do that? We can shoot down a nuclear warhead at a moments notice, but we can't shoot down a satellite in a relatively known orbit. C'mon. :roll:

Well few people know none of this technology is new. The former Soviet union successfully did several anti sattelite test using other sattelites to destroy a target sattelite as part of their Cosmos program in the 60s or 70s

Exactly my point. China and Russia do it and the world goes "tut. tut". We do it and we're see as some kind of a threat.

why dont they just send a group of us spacecampers up to disarm the sat and bring it down why our mission goes and tryes to find us
