Jenie Purves Memorial Scholarship Fund

Post by Spanky »

February 5, 2004

To Jenie’s family and friends;

On behalf of the U.S. Space & Rocket Center®, please accept our heart-felt sympathy for the loss of Jenie. She was our co-worker and a friend to many who work here at the Center, and she will be greatly missed.

To honor Jenie’s memory, we have established the Jenie Purves Memorial Scholarship Fund. Through this fund, some deserving young person will have an opportunity to attend an AVIATION CHALLENGE® program in Jenie’s name and to share her love for that program. We hope that you consider this a fitting memorial to her.

Those wishing to make a tax-deductible contribution to the Jenie Purves Memorial Scholarship Fund should make checks payable to:
The U.S. Space & Rocket Center Foundation
One Tranquility Base
Huntsville, AL 35805

There are few words or actions that seem adequate at a time such as this. Please know that we are deeply saddened, and our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Sincerely,
Larry R. Capps

Make sure that if you make a donation, that the memo line of the check has "Jenie Purves Memorial Scholarship Fund" on it. We also need to raise $18,000 to make the scholarship an endowed Scholarship. An Endowed Scholarship would insure that a deserving child would get to come to camp every year. I know that Jenie would be proud to have her name on this scholarship.
