Eclipse

I dunno whether you know about it or not, but a lunar eclipse is sceduled to occur this Thursday night (May 15th-16th). Space.com has a great article that will prepare you for it: http://www.space.com/spacewatch/lunar_e ... 30509.html.

I read about that but I had forgotten what the date was. I had planned on looking it up this weekend and now I don't have to. Thanks for the info.

yay its tonite! eclipses are so cool.. i dont think i've seen a lunar one before.. i remember seeing a solar one in elementary school, we made the little boxes with a mirror in them all weird to look at it.

There was a lunar eclips here a few years ago. It was really cool to see. There was a solar eclipse on Christmas a few years ago too. It was just a partial though.

Well unfortunately its cloudy here tonight but i'm going to try to go out and see if its possible to see it or not. Atleast its not raining like they were calling for.

I wasn't even thinking about weather. The cloauds here are thin, but they cover the whole sky

. Maybe I'll catch a plane somewhere else (I wish). How's the weather around y'all's parts?

Well not only is it cloudy here but looking at the weather channel there is a big storm headed this way looks like i wont get to see the eclipse.

It should be starting about now. I walked outside onto my second story patio. I can see the shape of the Moon directly ahead, right behind the clouds. The clouds are supposed to clear later tonight (according to weather.com). Maybe I'll see some of it.

there are a few clouds but its pretty much clear here. and its pretty warm out, so i dont mind going outside to look at it every few min as i have been doing.

YOu are probably getting the storms that hit us a little while ago. It's clear here right now and the moon looks awesome!

There are thunderstorms, so I couldnt see it.

It was pretty cool. I got a telescope for my birthday last summer and I haven't had a chance to use it in 2003. I had a lot of fun playing with it as the eclipse progressed.

I saw a little of the eclipse through the clouds, but it cleared up niceley around 11. It was great.

We couldn't see a thing here it was cloudy and we had a thunderstorm rolling in from the west so no lucky but there is another one in november.

Well for those of us who missed it as i said above there is another one in November and i believe another one in march of next year.

i wish i could have stayed up later to watch it longer, but i went to bed a little after it was totally covered. maybe if i dont have school the next day when theres another ill stay up longer.
