Hall of Fame Dinner

Post by Boomerang »

Well i just got in from the dinner tonight and anyone who missed it missed a great event. I got to meet William shatner, Story Musgrave, Dottie Metcaff linnenberger, and Jim Halsal. Also spoke with Ed Buckbee who i hadnt seen in many years. Shatner was entertaining and made for a great evening. They had a video to go with each inductee as well as showing monkeynauts video. Shatner was also presented with a key to the city and there was a proclamation from the Governor of Alabama proclaiming this week Space Camp Anniversary week. The food was great and got to meet alot of people hjopefully my pictures will turn out the room was pretty dark so we'll have to see. Several of us were there from Hab 1 and many space and rocket center staff. I'm sure vincent will post more about it at some point too.

the dinner was awesome!!! I had a great time. Jan Davis was at my tabe so I met her and got her autograph. Penny Pettigrew was also at my table. Her and her husband love hockey so we talked about hockey over dinner. It was cool. I also got to sit in on the press conference which was so cool. Shatner was so funny. I do have a video of part of the press conference that I will try to post. I also met Story and Dottie M-L. Dottie has the cutest little daughter, I think she is 3 months old. I also met Dan Oates. He's such a nice guy. I'll post more later.

Hello all,

Meeting Vincent encouraged me to join this forum. It was a pleasure meeting some of you at the event!

The Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony was an amazing event that I was proud to be part of. My friends couldn't believe I had met such cool people! I even have a unique keepsake: William Shatner's script!

I have photos from the dinner and from backstage posted at http://picasaweb.google.com/lauramsewar ... HallOfFame .

Enjoy! :D

All the best,
Laura
