Well i'm pretty sure it's musgrave. I know he flew Columbia, and Endeavour and i'm pretty sure challenger as well. I know hes made quite a few flights both before and after the challenger accident.

Yep. It is Story Musgrave. I came across that fact last fall while doing research for one of my many speeches on space. Any suggestions on what the topic for my final speech should be?

How about americas lack of intrest in space exploration until something goes wrong.

That would be a good one!!! You could use Apollo 13, Challanger and Columbia for examples.

I didn't mention that one because there was still a high intrest in the space program at that time.

Actually intrest was already starting to wain. Keep in mind it had been nearly 2 years since the last Gemini mission. The Vietnam was was heating up and there were alot of outspoken oponents of the whole program.

Well that was the best one i could think of but give us some time i'm sure we can come up with something.
