I never knew that there was a place like this online. I happened to find it by pure accident. It was a pleasant find though.
Just curious... is anyone that is on this site from any of the weeks that I attended (listed below).... and yes that Air and Space article really was my class... the picture of everyone walking under the shuttle was a "staged" photo when we were going from the "original" Hab to the training floor. I am the guy that is in the front of the line closest to the camera....
Finally found this site!!!!

Welcome to Hab1!
I wasn't there when you were (I am ~7 years younger than thou), but it's always nice to meet new people and hear about their trips to camp. Come on in, share your experiences, and we'll be eagre to listen and ask questions.
There are a few people on here who may have been at camp in the early 90s. Hopefully they will chime in.

Pics... well.. I would have to scan them in... they were all done with old school (non-digital) cameras. I know I have a few from the trip that we took to the SSME test stand, and several from the week that NASCAR was there. They actually put a few older cars out on display around the rocket park. I know one of them is the old Richard Petty car from the 60's that had an elevated rear wing. I will have to dig them out and see what I can find.

Ah yes, you must be talking about the Plymouth Superbird that Mr. Petty drove. There were also Dodge Charger Daytonas that had the huge wing as well.
Your post brought back a great memory for me. Yes, NASCAR used to come to the Space And Rocket Center (Space Camp) every year! In 1989 I remember going to visit the Rocket Center and each NASCAR driver had a booth set up in the Rocket Park. Many were underneath the Pathfinder, signing autographs. I wasn't into NASCAR at the time (I was 13) so I didn't pay much attention. But I do remember some of the cars being there.
