Exactly 50 years ago today on October 1st 1958 the National Advisory Committee on Aeronautics as well as several other agencies involved in aviation and rocketry were officialy combined and The National Aeronautics and Space Administration opened its doors for business.
The act of congress that actualy created NASA was passed in July of that same year but id did not open its doors till October 1st the beginning of fiscal year 1959.
So to all NASA employees and other contractors past present and future Happy 50th anniversary.
