NASA to Launch Lightsaber into Space

In honor of the 30th Anniversary of Star Wars, the force will be with the crew of the next shuttle mission. Here's a couple of articles with pics. This has brought such a smile to my face this morning. Nothing like Chewbacca, Storm Troopers, R2D2, and some Imperial Guards running around the airport.

The astronaut in one pic looked like he had an MMU. I hope the TSA agent doesn't classify that as explosive!

intresting an earlier article i read on this said it would be lukes saber from Episode 4 a New Hope looks like they went with the one from return of the Jedi instead.

You're right, the two articles above contradict each other. Plus I read a third article that says it's the 1977 one.

How funny was the TSA Agent's remark?!

TSA agents are funny

If anyone reading this is going to camp soon, look for the tiny plastic light up guns in the main gift shop. A teammember and I had to ask if one of those should be put in the checked luggage for our flight home because it looked like a weapon. The answer: yes. Of course.
