This week I spoke to the local Kiwanis Club about Space Camp. I wore the blue jumpsuit and brought a photo album and video clips of some of the Space Camp activities. I spoke for half an hour and took questions for about another 15 minutes. One of the questions was about the future of the space program after the shuttle goes out of service and I was glad that I had had the Ares/Orion briefing at the June Alumni Camp!
In the past, I have spoken at a different Kiwanis group as well as Lion's clubs, a middle school and an elementary school. Has anyone else been invited to speak about their Space Camp experiences? I find that these are always interesting and I get many interesting questions both about Space Camp and about the space program in general. Of course, they love the "real" astronaut suit!!. I have probably spurred several people to attend Space Camp who might not have otherwise.

I've never done any formal speeches, but I am the person everyone comes to when they have questions. Friends send me links all the time either "Thought you might like this" or "Have you seen this?" and they say they think about me when there's a shuttle launch or landing.
But as I said, anytime anyone has a question, they call me, text me, whatever, but they try and get a hold of me. I guess I'm their resident NASA girl. But more space in general, and not so much Space Camp. Though all week I've been getting "How was Space Camp?!!?!?!?"
