What's the deal with the wings in the profile information next to each post? Who would actually pin on a pair of gold wings? No real man flies with gold wings.

And they appear to be NFO wings, too, Gordo...

Should?!? Offered?!? As if there is truly any choice in the matter! Only wings of a golden variety are those which have become tarnished through lack of use and/or ill-fated reputation.

Hey now i have to speak up here. There is nothing wrong with the golden wings. And i have nothing but the highest respect for the men and women who call themselves Navy and Marine Corps Aviators who wear them. It takes someone with alot of guts, skill and a little insanity to return from a long mission in the middle of the night and make a controled crash on a moving rolling pitching postage stamp of a runway. Nothing against Air Force but GO Navy!! Fly Navy!!

or as an old cadence i remember goes "I don't know but its been said Air Force Wings are made of Lead" "I don't know but i've been told navy wings are made of gold"

But seriously Like i said i have nothing against air force pilots i'm not looking to start an arguement but Give the Naval and Marine corps aviators some respect too.

Look, I don't think Spanky and Gordo are disrespecting Naval aviation at all - I believe they said Silver Wings should be offered, not mandatory.

Then again, I think Vincent should offer Army Parachute wings, too.

But just because I've earned those. :)
