I'm applying to Tulane and Johns Hopkins,
word about Johns Hopkins, its a great school, parents went there and a bunch of my buddies go there. Most of the kids there will study 27 hrs a day if they could, its a highly competitive environment which i decided was not for me. as for Baltimore its a great town if you didnt grow up there, i did and am so glad im not still there.

When I visited Johns Hopkins, the student I talked to just didn't seem very enthusiastic about it... like, they do their studies, they learn... it meets up to its academic reputation, I'm sure... but, problem is, it's not so much college. Like, you know, the whole "college" experience... some of the fun seems to be missing. At least, that's the impression I got from the guy who gave me a tour (he wasn't one of the regular tour guides, he was a friend's brothre)...

thats fairly true, you probabyl got a better tour than if you had gone on the admissions tour. If you cant have fun you are going to hate school, my "college experience" has been somewhat entertaining, putting a web of caution tape in a friends room when hes out of town, attempting to duct tape your RA to their door, riding a bike through the dorms and an assortment of other mischevious activities.

Indeed, indeed.

I actually went to an actual College party when I toured the place I decided on... beer and everything... the scary thing was that anyone and everyone could get beer without getting in trouble... even the under-21's...

Haha. Actually, the computer degree is for me to pay my way through a lot of schooling in psychology. I have to work through college and that gets me a higher paying job than oh say... mcdonalds (not that theres anything wrong with that). Its also a very handy backup should i not be able to get a psych job as quickly as one would hope.

Well, here's the deal. We came for touring and whatnot for a certain part of the day, then after that, they hooked us up with host students for the rest of the day... it was pretty. And it just so happened that there was a party that night! It was exciting... and if you're wondering, no, I didn't drink anything.

I haven't actually picked a first choice school. I haven't visited all of the schools I'm applying to yet. So I can't really pick a favorite yet. So far I've visited Tulane, Auburn, University of Maryland, and Georgia Tech.

Sorry it has taken me so long to respond; I just got back from Arizona today.

Tulane's campus is beautiful i would have to say. And I love the uptown area around the school.

sorry, i'm a bit behind on this topic but getting back to the common app...do schools prefer their app over that one? I'm starting to stress with all the essays i have to write...most of the colleges i'm applying have 2-3 essays....i may have skipped over a post but is anyone applying to vandy, cornell, or prudue?
