Lunar Sample Certification
Well this is something i'm excited about. Today at work i went through the NASA certification class to beable to handle and use Lunar and meteorite samples as part of my classes i teach at the center and outside of the scenter with the propper precautions. So now no matter where i go in the country i have access to these samples for use in any teaching i do over the years. These samples are not large rocks they consist os a disk that encases 6 small samples each. 3 soil samples and 3 rock samples. The disk i looked at today had samples from Apollo missions 15, 16, and 17. Including some of the Orange soil from Apollo 17 that some of you may have seen in the Apollo 17 episode of the From The Earth to The Moon mini series. The museum where i work has 11 more sample disks available for use. Educator resource centers throughout the country have these samples available to educators and others who get the certification though their are alot of security procedures to be observed by whoever uses the samples including if being taken off sight havi9ng to have a combinatuion lock safe for storage and having a certified person with the samples at all times when on display as well as filling out several forms and writting a formal request letter as far in advance as possible to reserve the sample. But i still think this is great and will be using the samples in my programs in the future.

WOW!!
That is really amazing! Next time I am in your area (goodness know when that may be) I will definitely have to come bug you and ask to see the Moon dust and rocks! The most I can see here is a Moon rock in a display case. It looks really neat mind you, but the more the merrier!
