Yes, of course!! I would LOVE to read your journal from AC, both the double session in the summer and the special 8-day session over Christmas.

OK, please tell me you're not complaining about not getting to go to camp enough, because that would make me absolutely sick. I've been lucky to go twice, and who knows if I'll get to go back with the way my parents view it.

You have no idea just how lucky you are. I was pretty close to getting to go again when my parents up and changed their minds too. Then there's the fact that I probably won't be able to afford to go back next summer because even though I work I only get $20 every two weeks which is barely enough to cover gas, while I'm trying to pay of a $500 dollar debt to my parents right now, not to mention the fact that I need to be saving for college since my parents are not going to pay a single cent of my tuition. I'm sorry if I seem a little bitter, but to tell you the truth, I am.

I understand how you feel about money. it is stressful to worry so much. seriously i worry so much about college. and money. and future stuff.
The reason i get to go so much is because my mom didnt get to go to do fun stuff when she was a kid and wants all my brothers and sisters to be able to.

You should try to apply for one of their scholarships at space camp... its at least worth a try right?

True there are scholarships, and I actually know the family of one of the memorial scholarships (a pair of my advanced academy wings were pinned to their six-year-old boy when they buried him). Unfortunately, my dad happens to make too much money for me to ever be considered for any kind of need based scholarships, college or otherwise. As far as college goes, thankfully i got a decent enough sat score to possibly get me some merit based scholarships.

Oh and by the way, my parents' childhoods weren't exactly a walk in the park either, but that in no way entitles me to ask them to spend thousands of dollars of their hard earned money so that I can go to camp 4-5 times a year. Especially when I still have 2 younger sisters. Anyway, my parents also are not into the whole let's give them whatever they want thing because they don't want me to end up stuck-up like those I thought were my friends for so many years and then found out differently when I decided to transfer to public school.

Not all Space Camp scolarships are based on family income. Some are based on academics and a written essay, at least the one I got was. It paid the full tuition, and since I worked hard to get the scholarship, my parents agreed to let me use some of their air miles to fly to camp and back.

You see, all is not lost... ;-)

I received a scholarship for my second trip to Advanced Space Academy. I had to use the scholarship in the off-season, which is why I went in October.

That is terrible to hear. Thankfully you still get to go to camp; all is not lost! On the brighter side, ASA could be a great experience for you - see what happens on the other side of the fence.

What week might you be going in Setpember because I will be there in September too!

Everyone can go back, eventually. I never thought I could, but I am!
