Okay, that is good to know. I figured just as well.

However, if nobody steps up to the plate for the CDR or PLT position I might switch tracks. Adult programme trainees all SCUBA, but the PLTs don't do the EDM SCUBA. I guess I will find out more when I get there.

As promised, I will write all about it in the utmost detail with an unhealthy side of digital pictures.

40 days and counting... my own personal count-down clock until the fun begins... or your communal count-down until you get rid of me for a week... take your pick ;-)

One month, or 31 days, until my friend and I leave for/arrive in Huntsville! After checking in at the Marriott (~4.00 PM), we'll immediately wander over to Space Camp until 8.30 PM, when I was told we had to leave. We'll be back at 10.00 AM (or earlier) the next morning to drop off our stuff in HAB I and wander around campus for a while until registration at 1.00 PM.

I probably wrote that a few times already, but I'm so excited it is unbelievable. :D Five years sans camp makes me extremely happy to return. I just hope my friend, my counsellors, and the rest of my teammates, can put up with my hyperactivity and excitement. Yes, I'm 21 going on 5 when I go to camp; worse than a little kid in a candy store at DisneyWorld! I'll try to act my age, although that's a huge effort on a normal day!

Only 17 days to go and I am almost fully packed. I have a small rolling luggage bag, a backpack, and my camera tripod in its own carry bag. A flight suit, Space Camp shirts and shorts, some other clothes, and swimwear are all packed. I have yet to pack the small things in my backpack, but I'm getting there. I am so excited!!

 Okay, so my excitement has come crashing down and now I am in a total panic mode...

I received a phone call this afternoon stating that, due to low registration, Adult ASA for my week has been *CANCELLED*! Now, that leaves me in a bit of a pickle... Not only do my mate and I have to pick another week, we also have to re-schedule our flights and our hotel. The hotel isn't so bad, but the flights are a nightmare!

On the brighter side of things, we were offered the chance to attend the 8-day programme at no additional cost. What do you think? If we can change our flights, is the 8-day programme really worth it, or should we stay with the 6-day? My mate has never been to ASA before, so would she be really missing out if we went to the 8-day programme?? Please advise...

HELP!!! We need to make the decision by TOMORROW!!! eeeeekkkk

Thanks for all the votes and comments. As for the alumni thing, it does not apply to adult camp; any adult can apply such that they know the camp exists. The special session is not listed on the 'dates and rates' page, but it is listed on the online registration page. (Both those pages don't work right now anyway...)

My mate and I discussed it, and we will definitely go to the 8-day camp as Mission Specialists! We will have to transfer our flights and ring back the lady from the camp tomorrow at 6 AM and get it all sorted out. We also have to stay another day at the Huntsville Marriott to keep our flights, but we don't mind, nor do we mind getting a mere 3 hours of sleep the Monday morning before we have to return to work. We will miss the Liberty Bell 7 though. Give a little, get a lot!

I learned all that secret stuff about the 8-day camps, but oh well; I doubt it will spoil my experience any. It will be so exciting to go to the special session! I wonder if we will get a video and special stuff like the youth programme does?? Yay! I'll update everyone on the camp's status when I get more information.

After half a dozen telephone calls yesterday and today, everything has been confirmed. I am just waiting for all the e-mails to come in...

We leave on 24 September; 8-day adult session begins on 25 September and ends on 02 October; we leave on 03 October, arriving home just after midnight on 04 October.

I am glad the chaos of switching everything over is finished. Thanks for all your help, the 8-day session will definitely be the better choice!

Looking at my confirmation notice... I will be attending week ONE. How odd is that? One would think that the first session starting after the new year would be week one... but at the end of September? hmmm... Last time I was at ASA I was week 2, so it has been this way for a while. Does this go back to way back when, was the first week ever at Space Camp the last week in September? Curious...

Christmas camp is week 14 and in the middle of the summer it's in week 40. It's weird but most places are like that. The fiscal year doesn't start at the beginning of the year.

Yeah... what the heck is up with the fiscal year, anyway?

i think its interesting though that they follow the north's year vs the south's...hmmm. lol. wouldn't it make sense that they would follow the south's so they wouldn't have to worry about hiring interfering with school?
