Lets get this shuttle in the sky.

Lets get this shuttle in the sky.
I hope that the Col. investagation says that flights can be made by this spring. As Shepard said in The Right Stuff "Alright, I'm cooler than you are. Why don't you fix your little problems and light this candle?" (hear it here, it is a zipflie)http://www.destgulch.com/movies/rstuff/rstuff22.wav I want us to return to space but we all know that space is dangerous and things can happen as Frodo said to Sam, which Bilbo said to him "It's a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don't keep your feet, there's no knowing where you might be swept off to." (Hear it hear, it is zipfile)http://www.myfavmovies.com/cgi-bin/Down ... 0Ring&0024 So lets remeber what happened with Apollo I, Challenger, and Columbia and cont. human exploaration of space.

I just cant see stopping space travel because we lost a shuttle. The people that were lost in all three of our space accidents would probably say that we should continue the space program anyway..... Granted i do think we need to work on our problems and get things fixed before we send more people up but lets not stop space travel alltogether!

Hear hear! Anyone who says that we should stop space flight altogether is a bloody idiot and that is all there is to it
We need to get the space shuttle back up, HOWEVER, I do believe that we have been doing nothing productive (other than ISS) for too long, and that we need government backing to return to the moon or go to mars.

I say forget the government. Beurocracy is the reason NASA projects are always over budget, behing schedule, and out-of-date. Pressure from Congress has also led to the oversights that have led to all three manned spacecraft accidents. What we need is privatized spaceflight. I think once someone wins the X-Prize, spaceflight in the private sector will boom, just like aviation after Lindberg's cross-Atlantic flight. Then, we'll finally make some progress because economics will be driving things and poor performance in any area will make a company lose business.

Yeah but NASA will never live with out the government for a couple reasons one being that its a government run operation lol. Another is that the public isnt gonna back space up because all they ever see are the screw ups. With out some large organizations baking NASA would be toast.
