Favorite anomaly

Post by ethlar04 »

I thought of this poll last night, and just wanted to see what anomalies people have had and which were their favorite.

The waste system and the RMS jettison were my favorites. I pissed off the councelor runing the sim because i was able to solve the waste system in five seconds. But MOCR didnt get the procedure for the RMS jettison to us in time so we landed with the payload bay doors wide open and the Arm hanging over the side (the PBD were open due to a software bug).

In terms of medical anomalies space ghost gave the quiet kid Space Psycosis. Symptoms: becomes quiet, seperates self from group, refuses to work. All things he already does, so we completely ignored him for a good portion of the mission thinking he was completely fine.

Well, if Sara gets a psychological anomaly (and she always does), clear out. I like the waste management overflow, because the crew gets covered in--

I love the medical anomalies... I just got back from camp and during the EDM, while outside doing the EVA, there was a meteor shower and my partner and I were knocked unconscious... the payload specialists had to come out and drag us back in... then we got the benes... after they figured out to give us oxygen to regain consciousness, we screamed hysterically for like fifteen minutes until they gave us the right medicine... meanwhile in MOCR, they gave Capcom a med anom. of the squirts... and all the ones where you go crazy are awesome... except when people bite you.

Christmas trees are great! I love the look on peoples faces before they realize that its a simple sensor failure issue.....

Hmm, perhaps this will explain my vote? Yes anyway medical anomalies are so awesome because some of the time the answer isn't in one of those binders! yay! My personal favorite would have to be the bends because I get to scream so loud that everyone in Station, MOCR, and in the orbiter takes their headsets off until they fix me because I am screaming so loudly. Ahh good times. Too bad they can't give pyschological anomalies anymore! Too many people were breaking things or actually getting hurt. I am very sad. Oh well, I had my infamous 30 minute one once and that was my last. So sad.

i loved how every year, it seems, either pilot or commander has a heart attack during Launch, right before MOCR, of course...
My favorite thing, though it wasn't an anomaly, persay, was when Nathalie was working flight deck during my first EDM, she made EVERYTHING float away... after that, none of the other counselors came close...
Anyway, in my second EDM, I was commander, and we had a buzzer going off (H2O loop or freon loop... i don't remember anymore), and this was back when the buzzers still buzzed, and it came on around T+00:06:30 or so, and then, of course, classic to all EDM's, I had a heart attack at t+00:08:00, and ended up with an incompetant PS, so he lost the only morphine we had, I died, and he revived me with Motrin (the cure-all!), and the buzzer's still going... and going, and going, I swear, I thought it was on a freaking duracell battery!! Finally, around T+01:36:45 our incompetant MOCR finally remembered we still had the freaking buzzer going, and finally figured out WHICH freon (or was it H2O?) pump was affected (that confused them for the entire hour and a half!!), and we finally managed to turn the [darn] thing off... I thought I was going to be deaf from all that buzzing...

Well thats a classic! The PLT or the CDR ALWAYS has a heart attack at the beginning of the EDM! And the rest of us stupid people stand up and break our legs. I fell for it during my first EDM but now I just watch the people break their legs and I laugh! Wow, on my last EDM EVERYONE stood up including the PLT so basically the counselors magically revived one of them so that they could help the rest....

I have had so much fun with the medical anomalies. I was payload and in the space staion when everything went wrong. It was so much fun just to get to "fix up" the people. I hated the waste part. I was the one cleaning it up. Then everytime it was cleaned up, there would be more. But you have got to love those anomalies. That was the best part of the EDM.

I was in MOCR for my last EDM, and though I usually hear they get some decent anomalies, we had practically nothing, especially in the way of medical ones... So very sad... I seemed to be the major medical anamoly... first a broken toe, then it got gangrene and fell off, and the psychotic one, Jackie, ate it! Barfed it up later, and they reattached it (yum, right?), and then later on, I was supposed to be drunk, so i sat near the yellow pole and slept... And I really slept, that's how bored I was... It was the least fun I'd ever had on an EDM... I didn't know they could be that boring...
Ah well, at least I had two out of three awesome ones... I KNEW I shouldn't changed tracks... STUPID MSes!!

Well the Christmas Tree can be fun foir a pilot. And yes normally its something simple to fix because its a sensor anomoly. But when i went to ASA i was pilot and they gave me a christmas tree when i was the only one on the flight deck and the rest of the crew were injured. The only problem is there is a way to tell if its a sensor malfunction or not i dont remember what it was but its onw of the CW lights is either on or off in that case. Well when they gave me the christmas tree whatever that indicator was didnt show it as a sensor malfunction and i actually had to fix everything on the CW panel by myself.

Christmas trees are amazingly easy to solve. I learned it quickly on my first EDM. C3, lower right portion. Section: Caution warning. Switch: Memory. Position: Move to clear, then back to original position.

But its great to see a first year ASA pilot panic. :-D

We once had a christmas tree on an EDM, except one of the lights wasnt working on flight deck, so we thought that it was something else not a christmas tree, and MOCR was scrambling to solve every light that was active.

Thats basicly what happened to me. That one ligt can make a big diffrence its the diffrence between one switch and alot of procedures. Whether the light was burned out or knowing my counselor just not turned on i don't know but either way it meant fixing it all. And i dont think every time you get the christmas tree its going to be so simple i would think it would be up to the counselor whether its the simple one or not. We were told to look for that light whenever we got a caution and warning in order to know which procedure to dowithout it it meant doing the more work.

Last year it was the MS that had the heart atck on my EDM. I had one this year during a meteor shower when the med book was in the station and we were in the node. My favorite anomlie was this year when I was low on sugar or something and I got to yell and scream at everyone. I hurt Erin's ears I was so loud and Jason phoned Arlisa in the Shuttle to find out what was wrong.

I guess my team never really got into the medical anomolies that much. But then my crew for the EDM only experianced one medical anomolie where someone went insane the rest were o0ther medical problems.

Sara, Sara, Sara.

Your acting skills are terrible. You just can scream really fu- (er, i mean, freaking) loud!

And it hurts.

A lot.

Which sucks when you're the pilot and the commander is downstairs dead or something.

And its right about 3 minutes before deorbit.

I love EDMs :-D

yes medical anomolies are fun, pyschosis is good, you can run around flipping switches. the best thing to do when you have it is to run for the door if you're in station
