Finally....

I know a lot of you have mentioned something like this but for me,
it's extra special because... after 12 years I am going back to
SPACE CAMP!!!!

It's only the 3-day Adult Space Academy but boy am I thrilled to death.
12 years since I've been... oh my god.

Just registered online, just now, and I had to share!!!

Thanks!

It's been such a strange year. Kemara and I planned last year to attend ASA together because, strangely enough, her and I attended Space Academy Level I at the same time (June 16-21, 1991). She was on Martin Marietta and I was on BDM. Strange world, eh? In fact, she's on my team picture and I'm sitting 3 people away!!

So, we thought it would be great to attend together. But then, I got laid off from work late 2002 and it threw all plans for 2003 out the window. In anycase, while her and I aren't attending at the same time this go-round, I'm just beside myself that I registered :) I got a full-time, permanent job last week (with vacation benefits) and on the spur of the moment Thursday I put in for a day off, which was the Friday I would need to attend Space Camp and here I am!

Registration Complete -- Airline Tickets purchased.

Now all I need is to find my old Space Camp duffel bag and pad lock (yes, I still have 'em) and I'm all set! =)

despite Joel's attempts to convince campers otherwise, we ALL know (probably even the counselors know, ESPECIALLY if THEY were once campers!) that it really is...
One of my friends I met my first year in Huntsville, at Space Academy, is still in love with the guy she met then... They see each other occasionally, and have stayed close friends if nothing else... I just find it funny...
It's not Space Camp, it's LOOOOOOVE camp!!

You just gave me an interesting idea. You know how, usually, when you get on the Sprocket Center bus at the airport to get to camp, there are these innocent little first year campers on the bus? And you see them glance at your wings and stuff?

Anyways, I want to get on the bus and say something like "Hi, my name is Dan! Is this your first time to Nudist Space Camp?

Hehehe

That'd be good. What you gotta do, though, is ask them if they brought something stupid, like their rocket streachers, or their jet packs.

I probably could make campers believe anything..at least until a counselor stopped me. The second I pull out my lanyard, they all ask me questions about camp. I could easily convince them that they aren't going to wear clothes all week.

You guys are so bad but that would be funny. I remember talking to first year people on the last 3 trips when i went. I remember thinking how funny they were because they always seemed so nervous and it wasnt always the little kids either sometimesit was the older ones. One guy in particular when i went to AC he was going to Academy Level 1 but looked almost old enough for ASA the guy looked so scared.

in 2001, I actually passed for a counselor... All through EALD, the little kids thought I was a counselor... partly cuz of the lanyard, partly cuz i hung with the counselors, partly cuz i yelled at kids when they ran in the hab...
This summer, in 2003, during EALD, the counselor in charge called me counselor, and would go on an errand while we were sitting in the hab, watching tv, and tell me "hey counselor, you're in charge."
I hope I can fit being a counselor into my busy summers...
