Space Camp Software

Post by ApolloXI »

As most of you know that I am going to x-mas. I was wondering if anybody has the Space Camp's software Lift Off. Could you please give a review and if it is worth the money and how much is it.
Thx
Chris

The thingy they give you at graduation is Throttle Up and thank goodness its free, because it isn't really worth anything. I like the book version better. It is getting a little outdated, but it has all of the essentials in it. Liftoff is something totally different. It is that CD that costs, well I don't know....anyway, when Jeremy let us play in the computer lab, I played with it and it is pretty fun. I guess it would be better for little kids, but I found it thoroughly entertaining. Of course Chris, you know I find very juvenile things entertaining. Seriously though it is a really fun thing to play around with if you get bored.

skybase and liftoff are 2 totally different programs. SpRocket sells liftoff but does not sell skybase. Skybase is the program where you use real space station parts to make your own space station.

The part of liftoff we use with the kids is the part that simulates being a commander at different phases of a shuttle mission. You see straight ahead of you sitting in the commander seat. By clicking on different panels and switches you do checklists just like you would on the TCF. There are other parts of the program but we do not use them so you probably would never have seen them.

I don't remember being commander, but I remember something in Academy a few years ago where I was Flight. What was that?
