Really long EDM's
Ok, this has been bothering me ever since Sara mentioned something about it (about 30 minutes before I left camp, so I didn't have time to question further)
She wrote on her comment sheet "Bring back 12 hour missions!" - when I inquired further, she said that there also used to be 24 hour missions.
WOW! Does anyone remember these? How did they work?
Any fun stories?

Well, you can see it more or less in station...things that are signs that there used to be really long ones. Um you were in station with me Dan...becky showed us that stuff we couldnt touch but I did anyway. I kept opening the forbidden door during the EDM.

During the longer EDMs they had people working back in the safe room that they have you go into for the solar flare. Jason also told us about eiter starting or bringing back EVAs in the UAT, and a 24 hour EDM that included working different shifts with the other teams.

Awesome! I really hope that if they recover from attendence problems, we'll have longer EDMs. Or maybe they might somehow find longer EDMs more economical! (I wish)

Becky said they might bring back the longer missions in a few years from now. I will so be going back when they have longer missions.

I'll probably do the same for the 19 thing...
As for this whole hoping they'll do this... do they have any way we can suggest this to them? Is there anyone up there we can contact that might listen to us?
Umm... my answer is maybe... I know (well sorta know... he was my counselor way back in the day... he probalby has forgotten me) someone in the education department, and maybe if we're lucky we could get in touch with him about this... but I'm guessing one of you knows someone higher up than I do.

The less time spent in Orion Bay, the better.
Unfortunetly,
They'll probably say that they don't have the money to do the 24 hour misssions. 12 hour missions are a realistic possibility..

another issue, I'd think, would be that they only have one ASA sim, so either they'd have to mix the groups up for the really long EDMs, or they wouldn't be able to have really long ones... And if they mix them up, then you're not really getting a 12 hour or 24 hour mission... That was just a thought

Oh, I am SOOOO dying to be able to partake in a 24 hour mission, or even a 12 hour mission... I'd heard of them back when I ist came to AA, and after my first EDM, I was dying for it to go on longer. Just imagine the Medical Anomalies we could have!!!

well I lost my voice after my last EDM. I dunno if I could take 24 hours of my medical anomalies, but yelling at the top of my lungs without a headset but making everyone in Station, MOCR, and the Orbiter take their headset off because it was too loud was fun...
