turkey seems like a really random spot for space camp. do they get a lot of trainies there? its pretty cool that those counselors went there.

I don't know how many trainees they get but I know the max for sleeping is 300 and something. If there were two people fit for the job, I definately think it would be Nathalie and Tony. They rock!

Does anyone know what age groups space camp Turkey deals with? I tried looking at their web page but it never loaded for some reason.

The Space Camp Turkey site loads now. It looks very similar to our Space Camp. There is no ASA, but the other programs look to be pretty much the same.

I remember seeing it too and I woundered what it was there for. It looked weird and I don't think I would have wanted to use it.

Exactly. It was repossesed from fake Space Camp in France. I would be afraid to get on it, but it looks cool at least. Its probably a good thing they don't trust it.

I wouldnt weant to ride on anything that wasn't certified and inspected like the equipment used at camp in alabama.

I know the one in Canada is on;lt fpor ypunger kids but i dont know about the one in Turkey.

I know the website showed programs for elementary kids but I don't know about anything for older kids.

I don't think there is a program that is the equivalent of ASA. I think it is just elementary school and middle school aged kids.

Well i think even here in the US you have more kids going to Camp and Academy then you do ASA.

That's probably true. Like every kid dreams of being an astronaut, but by the time they're in high school most kids have given up that dream.

Well I don't aspire to be an astronaut, but I love camp anyway. I just love NASA/Space/yeah.

True alot of kids do give up on that isdea by high school i didnt till i was physicly disqualified from becoming an astronaut.

I know jenn got disqualified due to asthma... that really turned her off and when we went back in august she really didn't want to go because she wanted to turn her back on it... I'm glad she's changed her mind and hs become more inviting on what other opportunities await her... I'm not sure if ill become an astronaut or not... but whatever path leads me im sure it will be "man's greatest adventure" or just mine...

Life takes us on different turns, we just have to fine the right exit ramp... and then its ticket time at 20 mph over the exit limit and full speed ahead...

I never gave up, but some kids do. I just realized the place for me in NASA was on the ground, not up in space. Working with astronauts would be awesome.!

Erin was like that... for the EDM she didn't want a space post she wanted to be the EVA in MOCR... she wanted to be in Misson Control when she passes college and that was her love... So many people think that like sports... Its the people in the spotlight that get all the credit...but without the thousands of people preping the shuttle for flight or even tracking space debris, they wouldn't stand a chance...

I completely agree. I hated it when I realized my asthma would hold me back. Now, I hope to be able to provide ground support for the astronauts. That may be in MOCR or even further behind the scenes.
