College's
Hey all, i'm new here. I've been to camp a couple of times. And I finally joined the forum. I've seen a couple of posts about college's. I'm mostly interested in going to Embry-Riddle, just wondering if anyone else is interested in going there. I want to study Aerospace Engineering.

i thought i was most interested in embry riddle until i visited it, and absolutely hated it. so make sure you visit any school before you commit to going there. because brochures and reputation and everything can look nice, but it has to feel right in person.
i'm a freshman at clarkson university (www.clarkson.edu) majoring in aeronautical engineering. funfun.
if you havent done so already, use www.collegeboard.com to search for colleges, you can put aerospace/aeronautical engineering as a major you want, and it will give you colleges that offer it, since a lot dont. and like location and stuff. very helpful.
what year in high school are you?
good luck

seriosuly the best best part of goign to college is doing applications where you really dont have time but still somehow find out how to write like five essays for each college you apply to. ::sigh:: im happy i made it through and are in college

So yeah, I'm looking at Purdue (which is my in-state option), Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (also in-state, but it's private so it doesn't really matter except that it's close to home), UAH, Georgia Tech, and Embry-Riddle. UAH and RHIT don't offer aerospace engineering as a major, but do offer mechanical w/ the aero concentration. That would make my dad happy I know, and I think i could live with it if I had to. Right now, I've got a pretty good shot at getting a scholarship for full tuition at UAH and Purdue (if you wanna know, ask me why tomorrow). We'll just have to wait and see I guess.

Missing Space Camp
Things are going nuts here for me I can't keep up with the work load and I can feel my future slipping away. My 2 credit aerospace 2 has about the amount of work for a 5 credit class, I also have chemistry. Between those two classes I am not able to complete my work.

Talk to any engineer and they'll tell you that a Mechanical with Aero major will have more job opportunities than a straight Aero. Think bout that before you commit to a program. And UAH will have a dedicated Aero program soon, just ask all the grads that now have double majors in Mechanical and Aero thanks to them trying to get accredited.

i want to go to uah, but i should go to purdue because there's more opportunities there with it being a bigger school and all. i thought about the transferring option, but i would lose my scholarships.
