who here has visited uah? what did you think of it?
i applied there last year and got in. but i went to clarkson instead. now im applying to rpi, fit, and uah as a freshman instead of a transfer student...looong story... but i think i wana go to uah more than fit or rpi, but im not sure if i want to be at that big of a school. did it seem really big when you visited? do they offer any kind of transportation from the airport or would i have to take a taxi? and if youre from far away like me, how are you going to get all your stuff there? i think its too far for us to drive but i know id bring more stuff than i would be able to on the plane. thanks

I'll be a freshman at UAH this fall. I love it there. It really doesn't seem all that big, then again, my second choice was Purdue (in-state for me) where they have over 35,000 undergrad students. I'm actually just going to drive down. It's only about 7 1/2 hours from here.

I will not becoming back next year to FIT becuase I am not fully ready for the type of college it is. I will take classes at home in Nashville at a commuity college mainly pre-recs. but I will try to come back to FIT in a few years to get my major or to be a grad student. For those who are thinking about coming here don't let reading of this change your mind it was a personal thing this school is a great one, I wish I didn't have to leave.

As intent as I was about wanting to go to Boston University, I'm now really looking at other options. A few members of our high school band had the opportunity to go play with the Oregon Marching Band yesterday for the spring football scrimmage. It was amazing to play with them, an experience I won't ever forget. As players they're amazing, and as people they're so much fun to be around. I figured that if I went instate I'd go to OSU because they have a better engineering program, but now I think I may want to peruse music over engineering. Ugh, I hate these kinds of decisions, so tough to make.

When i was a freshman i got invited to go play with the western michigan university marching band (i cant remember why we were doing this) and i'm sure it would have been a lot of fun except i was going to space camp. Chosing a college is so incredibly hard because once you think you've found one you like then you find another you like lol. Its impossible!

I just got a big packet full of stuff today from Boston University! Woot!! I'm soo excited, lol. Perhaps they do it for everyone who sends them their SAT scores, I don't know. I didn't think mine were high enough for them to have any intrest in me. I'm hoping I was wrong!

well i just got back at like 4 am from huntsville. it was a really good trip. i loved the school, and i got in again, so i will be going to uah as a freshman in the fall. they have the nicest freshmen dorms ive seen, and ive seen a lot of colleges. huntsville is like 19 hours driving from vermont, so my dad said we can rent a uhaul to move me down there then he'll fly back home. i think would be really weird, to show up and unpack from a uhaul. but whatever.
i brought my dad to the space and rocket center. its so weird being there and not being a camper. i really liked seeing all the new stuff they put in since the last time i was there, but there were literally hundreds of little loud kids on field trips. watching the imax movie, fighter pilot, was distracting with all of them. its a really good movie though.

Haha, BU actually isnt THAT hard to get in to. It just depends on what college within the university you apply to. I only got like a 1290 on my SATs and I got in.

Hmm... well, I didn't read the whole thread, but I think I have the gist of it...

I am a graduating senior this year, and I will be going to a small liberal arts school in North Carolina... I'm really excited! I never did check out UAH, though... they sent me a whole lot of stuff! I guess it was because I went to ASA and all that stuff...

It really does depend on what college you apply to. My friend is like 1,000 times smarter than me but he got waitlisted in the College of Engineering. I applied to Arts and Sciences and I got in...with only 3 Ap's. I wouldnt even have gotten into UNC-Chapel Hill on that.

I'm really hoping I'll be able to get in. I plan on taking the SAT again as soon as it's offered next year, then applying for early admission. Did you have to take the ACT and SAT subject tests too? I think I read somewhere that the regular SAT was good enough, but I can't remember for sure. I know eastern colleges really want the ACT.

I took the SAT II's for Spanish and Writing. It is suggested that you take it for most colleges within the university.

But as long as ur trasncript looks good and you're involved in extracurriculars you should be good. I didnt take any fine arts classes pas the requirement for school and I only had a job like once. But I played two Varsity sports for 4 years each.....Im not superinvolved like some of the kids in my school, but I still got in.
