For pilots the orbiter is definately the best. It has the most to do for pilots. I cant speak from other positions point of view though,

Mission Control was my fav. Especially since I was CAPCOM. I still remember being the person to tell the guys in the orbitor to stow the satilite cause someone wasn't watching the time...

I was an MS and wanted to be on the orbitor but got stuck in MOCR. I was made at first but then had more fun than I would of in the orbiter. MOCR was great and you got to make fun of the people on stationand in the orbiter!!

We were kept busy so it wasn't that bad. The one hour mission sucked thou.
I hope to be in the orbiter this summer!!

You had to of been in the orbiter to understand why it's the best. Depending on where I am this summer my opinion might change!!

I still have to say that i enjoyed the orbiter best. I always liked being a pilot or commander for the missions over the years. That way i could be in control of the orbiter for the flight.

I'm sure people would understand that and that mistakes are going to happen.

Oh mistakes do happen i know i made a few. Luckily the switches dont actually do anything. Otherwise i would have accidently cut off theumbilical between the orbiter and the ET

I love the pilot track, though it's kind of unfair... the Pilot does alot and the Commander does little.

Wehn i was pilot the commander and i divided the work evenly to make things work better. It seemed to work pretty well.

most of the switches are on the pilot side, though. Checklist procedures are mostly done by the pilot, though the commander reads off to you.

Thats true but it does keep you busy.

during takeoff and landing especially. The APU startup and shutdown was alot to do in 40seconds!
I remember our counselor sitting behind me with a stopwatch timing how long it took. once I got a feel for where all the switches were, I got pretty good at it. even if you don't do anything, the orbiter still takes off and lands though.
