Well i know i'm guilty of this too but i think its time to get back to discussing space camp instead of what weve been doing which is everything but. This is a space camp forum remember. I think its time to discuss space camp again.

Well since im trying to get everyone back on track i guess ill start us off. Since this is about academy simulators i have something ive been wondering about. Has anyone here used the Atleantis simulator at Space academy. I've been inside of it but that was 9 years ago and at the time it was used by Space Academy level 2. The interior in my opinion back then looked more realistic than Enterprise. Has anyone actually got to use it?

I know anyone who went to ASA used Enterprise i was wondering if anyone who went to space academy used Atlantis instead of Endeavour or Discovery?

The SA ones look so cramped. Were do the MS's and PS's go?

On Endeavour Their is enough room on what passes for the flight deck to have the pilot and commander and 2 ms's and behind the miniature flight declk their is a miniature mid deck that can sit 4 people. On Discovery only the pilot and commander have seats the MS's go right to the eva and the ps's to space lab.

the enterprise would be cooler if it tilted back and shook during takeoff. but it is full scale inside so its no more cramped than the real thing.

It would be cool to beable to tilt enterprise back but could you imagine the equipment it would take to do that.

The hydraulics would be huge and expensive to run for sure but it'd still be cool!

The hydraulics would be huge but not impossible. The info that came with the space camp DVD said the way they made it look like the kids were in zero G while in space was by suspending the set which was the Atlantis simulator and maneuvering it around to make it look like the kids were floating in diffrent positions around the interior. Sure Atlantis isnt as big as Enterprise but you could probab;y atleast do something similar with the crew cabin part of Enterprise.

it'd be very expensive to do. BTW Lyn and I tried to get into Intrepid to take some pics for you guys but it was locked and we never had the chance. Oh well.

Yes I've seen them now. We actually convinced our counselor to climb up to the access hatch to get in since the door was locked... he got in but couldnt find the light switch! so we couldnt get in but i dont think we missed much.

Well from Vincents pictures it looks like an Academy level simulator. Which makes sense since the corporate camps use academy level sims and Intrepid was first to be used by them.
