Special Session Team Related Question

I know this could be looking ahead realllly far, but since there is only going to be one team doing the special sessions, have the counslers been choosen yet?
One would think that when they decided for sure to do the special sessions, they would at least have checked with some counslers to see if they had any interest?
(On a similar note, since there will only be one team doing the 7 day thing at a time, it will make for some interesting team rivalries. "We're cool, we're Oberth!" "Yeah, well we're the SPECIAL SESSION!".....)
(Which brings up another interesting question- what will the team names be? They should be something really special.)
Yes, I know, I am WAY too excited about this.
Sorry for wasting your time,
Dan

No, excited is good. You bring up some good points.
Counselors: fear not! Sara and Hillary are not on the same team! You will make it out alive. Though you'll probably somewhat rattled, they're much more manageable individually.

Well, I don't know Dan. Hillary and I will be on the same team if I can convince my dad to let me go. While it isn't going to be much more of a hassle to the counselors, I will join in her mayhem from time to time.

While at work today I looked at the numbers. Still a lot of space available for those of you that want to go. Still, numbers are down so far this year too. Fewer kids, fewer dives, but EDM EVA dives are back soon.

I think I'm still gonna have to hold out until I find out about NASA SHARP. I'm trying to convince my parents to let me sign up to go after I would get back (if I were to get in that is.)

about the diving thing, it says selected specialists will dive. does that mean not everyone does it. cause if everyone does it, i don't want to let my team down by not going. anyone know?

I'm sure just those doing the orbiter MS spots will dive. If you're in MOCR, you're probably Ship out of Luck as far as diving goes.

All right sports fans... here's the deal with diving. We (the staff of the UAT) will be the ones who decide who gets to dive the EDM. Yes, it will be whomever is an MS in the orbiter. However, we have to make safety a NUMBER 1 priority. That means, when MSs for a certain team come up to dive, we will evaluate the trainees for various critera and decide if anyone on that team would be allowed to do the EDM EVA. If we feel that no one can handle the Lama helmets and the dive itself, then there will not be an EDM dive for that week. It's not us being mean, it's us putting your safety a priority (as it always is). On a side note, the EDM dives will not be just for the special sessions either. The plan is to incorporate it into the regular sessions too.

Meg, remember me? I told you you weren't a loser too. Lots of people have fear of the water, at lest you try where others won't.
Yes there will be the normal dive. That will be how we evaluate who will get to to the EDM dive.
