Calling camp

I just called the reservations center for Space Camp. They have a new hold message (at least it's new to me, and it hasn't been too long since I called last). I only heard a few second of it (their pickup time is great), but it was excerpts from famous events, like Kennedy's announcement of our Moon goal.
Also, they have an international week thing on their home page.

I noticed that too. I kept getting transferred to different people last time I called so I think I heard just about all of it. The thing on their homepage is cool too.

If you go on the Space Camp site there are many dead links even for the shop and the online regisation. Plus they have gotten rid of some of the best stuff on thier site.

Well yes, half of the links don't work and I don't quite get that. But, I really like the new hold thingy.

Has anyone ever thought about how low we must've sunk to be talking about the hold music/message/whatever?

And the most important thing on their site that doesn't work (besides the registration information) is the contacts! I forgot all their numbers and checked on the site, but the page wouldn't load properly. And also, there's nothing wrong with talking about Space Camp's hold music. It's still a topic!

There wasn't much posting going on, and I guess it's a subject people can get into.
It may seem low, but it's about Space Camp.

Hi there. The webpage is being somewhat re-written for a new server or something to that nature. That should explain the old/dead links.
As for the hold... we have had it forever. At least since 1999. Most callers love it.. a few hate it. It used to be longer and started with the mercury program (god speed john glenn) and went up to the STS-1 launch .... but after Columbia I think they narrowed it down to just the moon landing part.
I have acutally had someone call me and asked to be put on hold.

I would call and ask to do that too....but we would have to pay a lot phone money because we don't have a long distance phone plan.

And it costs a lot to dial an American phone number when your Canadian.

OK, I guess I've just never been put on hold before, or never noticed it. It costs a lot of money per minute for the 800-number owner when you call. Asking to be put on hold would cost money that the USSRC doesn't have to waste. I always prefer the Internet, anyway.
