I'd never heard that story either. I do remember hearing a diffrent one many years ago when i was at camp the firat time. The one i heard was about a camper who dissapeared from the hab one night and a security guard seeing some strange light in the woods and being found unconcious the next day or something like that.

So far I have only seen two sites that say there is a space camp ghost both have the almost the same story word for word. Unless someone comes right out I think this is this a pure hoax. Or a back story the coulsers playing space ghost. Plus it could also just be a ghost story many couslers have told.

I don't know what anyone would be doing with explosives near any of the sleeping quarters to begin with. It could be one of those things counselors tell to campers to freak them out late at night or something.

Well thats all i figured that the story our counselor told us was.Just a story to try to scare us little kids. Especialy when they made sure to say that the kid in his story dissapeared from our room.

Yeah I guess stuff like that is more believable when you are younger. I am sure the little campers would maaaybe believe something like that, but even then it is doubtful.

Here in Nashville which is not far from Huntsville contsruction crew have to sometimes use jackhammer or explosives to put in pipes and level land. I think they are talking about the old hab1 building wich is paritlly underground. The people to ask now adays would be the nures at camp. But I still think that this is a hoax from the counslers to scare the smaller kids.

Well one of my favorite counselor stories that wasnt to scare anyone but was a total hoax came from my night counselor in 91. Some of you might remember the small submarine that is or atleast use to be in the rocket park. I'm not sure if it is anymore. But in reality the sub was used to recover nosecones after reentry. Well counselor tried to tell us that they had tried to launch it into space on a Jupiter IRBM with a 2 man crew but suposedly it didnt work and ended up crashing killing the crew and that it was all covered up. Well obviously it wasnt true but he had all of us little kids so convinced at one point we thought we could see the blood stains inside that he told us were there. I know it seems totaly rediculous now but the way he told it was very convincing heck as gullable as some adults are abiout conspiracy theories hed probably would have had some of them believing it.

I seriously doubt that story is true, because I have never heard it. Plus there are 3 buildings to sleep at.... so which sleeping quarters..? Most the time if you hear something roaming the halls its trainees or security.

But here is a true story for you - down between AC and SC, next to the rocket launch site there is a tree line to the right. In that tree line there was an old town that existed in the late 1700s, early 1800s you can still see the bases of the brick buildings that once stood there. Now, the towns graveyard is the M2 E&E woods and I have heard of fellow counselors seeing strange things in there.... 8O

I'll vouch for that one! Saturday night with Pilot/Co-Pilot E&E was scary.

I've never heard the story about the explosives but there is one at space camp in Hab 2. A P/C parent died of cancer in one of the bays on the bottom floor (Thankfully not the room I sleep in). And coming to space camp was his sons last request to his dad. I've "heard" that sometimes in that room the dad will go around and tuck in all the kids. I've never heard a trainee talk about it but who knowns.

I want to know which room it is too. It could have been one of the bays that is now not a bay or something and I could have been in there.
