Harry Potter

Post by ApolloXI »

I want to read the next book but I am not caught in all the hoop law of the book. If I went to one of the parties it would be more to people watch.

I haven't read any of the others, so I probably won't read this one either.

I read the first one, but I haven't liked any of the others so I stopped reading them. I do have friends though that party at the bookstore til 12 so they can get a copy of the latest, though.

Ahh, I love dragging up old topics.

I'm one of the Harry Potter fanatics. I was one of the crazy people that got all dressed up (I was Hermione) and went to the bookstore at midnight so I could be one of the first to get the book. As soon as I got in the car I started reading and finished the it 27 hours later. Did I sleep at all during that time? I had one half hour nap. I didn't NOT want to put the book down until I had finished, hehe. Though a friend of mine said he had finished the book in five or six hours. I have no clue how he did that, it's amazing. He's an insanely fast reader I guess. :D

I'm like that with Star Wars. May 19 midnight showing! I can hardly wait.

I've never actually read any of the Harry Potter books. I always have something else on my list to read first.

In seventh grade I refused to be a part of the Harry Potter craze. The my mother forced me to read the first book. Look what she created, I'll never be the same, lol. So far I've read books 1-4 nine times each, and book 5 once. It's sad, it really is, and I'll admit it.

Star Wars is good, though I have to say that in my opinion, the original three were the best. Return of the Jedi is my favorite. :D

I've read the first three books and seen the first two movies, so I have some catching up to do. I'm the one who voted for waiting till it comes out in paperback, since I like Harry Potter, but probably won't get to it for a while, and since my other HP books are paperbacks.

As for Star Wars, I took May 19 off from work, so what does that tell you about how much of a fan I am :P I used to have a Darth Vader costume, which I wore to the midnight showing of Episode II, but I've given that up. I was too short for it anyway! I'm a costume freak - have made or bought them for Star Trek (Klingon) conventions, Star Wars events, Queen conventions, and of course Halloween. Who knows, I may even wear my flight suit to the astronaut autograph convention I'm going to this summer 8)

Being a big Star Trek and Star Wars fan, I have all those books to keep with, too...whoever said "so many books, so little time" got it right!

I really want to re-read the fifth book a few more times before the sixth comes out. I'll be in New Zealand when it comes out, so no midnight party for me this time. I'll try to get to a book store on the day it comes out so I have something to read in the airports and on the plane on the way back home.

I don't like Star Wars one bit. It's an on-going battle with my beau and I, albeit it fun at times. I have another mate who loves Star Wars to bits and he even belongs to a group of people who dress up as Star Wars characters at special events, etc.

As for Harry Potter, I enjoy the books because they are written so well. I don't go nuts over them or the movies or anything else related to Harry Potter for that matter. The only reason I pre-ordered the next book was because the pre-order gave me free shipping and a 50% discount I couldn't ignore!

I will admit that I knitted a 2 metre (6 foot) long Gryffindor scarf for my mate who adores Harrry Potter. It took me six months to knit the silly thing in rounds but it was fun. I love making crafty things for my friends.

haha. The first time i watched star wars i was in the bottom of hab2 and i fell asleep on the banquet table... I am not a big fan of the movies and many people get really angry with me for that and someday i'll probably come around and like them but for now i really dont care for them.

The harry potter books on the otherhand i read fairly obsessivly. My mom works at a department store so i can get a book the night/day they are released cause she's either going into or coming home from work. I just love the adventures and its so unlike any other series.

My favorite Star Wars movie is Return of the Jedi. I want an ewok!! It's a good movie. We bought the trilogy for my dad for Christmas on DVD. I think so far I'm the only one that's watched it, lol. I'm thinking they're going to disappear into my room, so I can watch them at my computer. "I'm studying!" "You're watching a movie!" "With spanish subtitles! That's studying spanish!" :P

That sounds like something I'd do.
Oh, did you know that there are bloopers hidden on all of the DVD's? They are awesome!
