Aren't you a lucky duck. I couldn't go for the first time until last year b/c of the cost. This year I'm lucky that we already had paid for it and everything b/c my dad got laid off last week. I really don't know when I'll be able to back after that.

Yes, I am very lucky. I have to pay for it each time i go, and I keep getting myself further and further in debt to my mother. Technically, I will have gone 4 times in one calendar year now. I am going to see some of my counselor friends that may be leaving soon. I want to see them one last time before they leave camp.

How close do you live? Distance is also a big factor in whether I'll get to go back or not. It's too expensive to fly, but it takes a day to get there and a day to get back.

I have to go through Atlanta on the way down and Chicago on the way back. Flying to camp takes forever because I go from a small airport to another small airport. Its sooo annoying...

I wish I had gone eight times. And four in a year! Wow. I might go back one or two more times, but I'm going to college soon.

I had wanted to go to space camp since grade 7. I finally got to go after grade 10 but I had to pay. I thought I would never be able to go back when 9/11 happened. I got the $499 discount and was able to go only because of the discount. I still had to pay for the trip. This year I got the return camper discount and part of the trip is paid for by my graduation present. This is the last time i get to go for awhile but I will be back one day!

If I fly I have to go through Cincinati on the way down and Atlanta on the way back. It's wierd a ticket out of Indy costs like $200 but if I were to just drive to Cincy and leave from there, it would cost like $800.
My uncle wants to teach me how to fly so maybe there's a thought.

Oh yeah, I forgot to ask, any advice on raising money to go? Jobs seem to be few and far between here.

Does space camp still offer scholarships? i know they use to ofcourse it involved an essay contest. I don't know if they still do or not though since they seem to need the money.

I became an indentrued servant to three different people in order to pay for camp. It ends up being something like 1500 dollars each time I go not including spending money. There aren't many jobs around here and my school is a full time job.

I owe many people a lot of money, especially because I am going back for time number 8 in July.

Same here, my grandmother has now paid for 7 of my trips. My mom paid for the other one way back when it was only like 500 dollars for camp for a week. I miss that...now its 1000.

Well i remember when camp was so cheap many years ago. Cost is what sent me to AC in 96 i wasnted to go to Academy Level 2 but it was too expensive and AC was cheaper so i went there instead and loved it. Then 2 years later paying half i went to ASA which had replace Academy level 2.

I know what you mean about school being a full time job. Our school is entirely devoted to college prep. They recommend that you take at least one study hall a year, but because we have to take Bible for four years that doesn't leave me with enough open periods for all of the classes that I want to take. I have to drop band next year in order to fit them all in too.
