Win a trip to AC

Post by WesL »

Win a FREE week at Aviation Challenge®!
This year marks an important milestone in the history of America and all mankind… The centennial anniversary of an event often referred to as one of the most significant of all time. One hundred years ago, bicycle mechanics Wilbur and Orville Wright designed, built and flew the device that conquered gravity and launched us into the age of flight.

At the U.S. Space & Rocket Center®, we salute the ingenuity and tenacity of the Wright Brothers, and to celebrate the 100th birthday of flight we’re giving three lucky youngsters the chance to win an all expenses paid trip to Huntsville, Alabama, to spend a week training as a fighter pilot in the nation’s premiere military aviation/educational camp program, Aviation Challenge®. Also included is transportation for each first place winner to bring a parent to Huntsville, the city that invented space travel.

“A Celebration of Flight, 100 Years in the Making”

Kids, it’s easy to enter!! Simply create a poster depicting 100 years of aviation with the following theme in mind: A Celebration of Flight, 100 Years in the Making. See entry requirements below. Send us your poster no later than May 1st, and you could be on your way to Aviation Challenge!

Entries will be divided into 3 age groups, and a First Place winner will be chosen from each category! Second place winners from each age group will receive Aviation Challenge flight suits and a Remote Control Air Hog from Spin Master™. Third place winners in each category will receive Aviation challenge flight suits and an air pump Air Hog plane from Spin Master™. In addition, 25 entrants from each category will receive an Honorable Mention, including Aviation Challenge logo patches and prizes from Spin Master™.

First place winners must attend Aviation Challenge the week of June 15–20, 2003. You’ll be on-hand for the U.S. Space & Rocket Center’s Centennial of Flight Celebration. We’ll set-up a special VIP table for you at the celebration so you can autograph copies of your poster!

During the week, you’ll spend hours in the cockpit of an F/A-18 Super Hornet simulator… You’ll evade hostile troops behind enemy lines… You’ll help extricate members of your team from a helicopter moments after it’s shot down over water… You’ll experience the feel of parachuting into a body of water… And you’ll compete for the coveted Top Gun Award!

So check the official rules below and get started on your poster today! You could be on your way to Aviation Challenge and the adventure of a lifetime!

Entry Requirements:

1. Posters must be completed on paper measuring 11x17 inches. Use only paints, crayons, markers, pencil, or pen/ink. Please, no 3-dimensional designs.
