The idea of an allumni association based here at hab1 in conjunction with the US Space Camp Foundation in order to organize and inform all of the allumni (past campers), provide merchandise for allumni, and provide special events or programs and incentives for allumni has been brought up and discussed in other topic-boards so heres a place where we can work on ideas and put together a possible program.... Good Luck...

"The U.S. Space Camp Foundation no longer exists. It is defunct," says Al Whitaker, the spokesman for the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Ala.

First I think we need to know two things, 1) who will lead this project and 2) a layout for everything this program is sapposed to cover...

1) If I figure that the allumni group should be built around Hab1 beings as that is what this is... what we are really talking about is expanding into the camperfinder program and creating a tie to SCF (SpaceCamp Foundation)... So if Vincent wants, its all his or else I'll volunteer to coordinate some of this... Let me know what you all think...

2) Thinking about everything we want this program to do we basically have the following:
a) camper finder program (similiar to classmates.com in function)
b) forum/message boards (HabForum)
c) Merchandise ~ available through SCF/USSRC?
d) Special Programs ~ arrangements with SCR/USSRC?
e) Contact ~ Partnership between SRC/USSRC and Hab1 with the camperfinder program.

Have
-We already have plans going for the camperfinder program
-We already have the Forum

Need
-Merchandise
-Contact Info
-Special Programs

Merchandising once an emblem is developed, merchandise could be easily created by SCF/USSRC in their normal merchandise orders for camp... But we just need the approval and connection with the SCF central office...

Special Programs are a time to time basis and can be set up later after the allumni program is finished...

Contact Info - ok... i have a strong feeling that SCF is not going to give us the records for 300,000 attendences... and i don't think their going to pay for a letter to go out to each... but their is a rather large network out there... school systems... news networks.. newspapers... and word of mouth... if we start out with just a flyer to each graduating cadet and even a counselor that recieves registration information there and either enters it into the network or mails it to someone who does... that would solve the first half the problem(now and the future) but the past we will just have to keep working on...

A connection with SCF... we would probably need to write a letter to the upper management for this idea before its all done... but half the program is being made up anyway for use with HAB1 so if this idea crashes... theres really no loss...

So let me know what you think ....

Well Zach everything you said sounds good and if were looking for someone to head it up ypou sound like the person to me. As far as the space camp foundation goes it is defunce but it only ran the Florida and California camps anyway.
