Ok i just saw the new Star Trek movie today.; I'ts great and i highly recomend any star trek fans go see it. Its got suprises some good some bad but i wont give anymore details. Go See it.

Finals start this coming week, so I really can't afford/justify going to the movies until they're over.

As soon as they're over though--between Trek and LoTR--I'm going to spend, like, three days at the theater!

I know i should have spent today studying for my last 2 finals but i have all weekend atleast to do that. I spent the whole day at a local theater running a recruiting display for our local fan club.

I heard that it really stunk. I havent seen it myself but I heard that the acting is ok, the plot is decent but the script was awful.

Seems to me the crittics say the same thing about every Star Trek movie that comes out. And a few of them i would agree with Star Treks 1, 5, 7, and 9 come to mind. But despite bad critical reviews the majority of the movies are pretty good and tend to do well at the box office.

Naa. Nemisis Is cool. I just saw it today. But then I am an CGI animator and would think such things are cool.

To me it looks stupid so I'm not going to waste my money on it. I don't like Star Trek. I want to go to LoTR though. It looks great!

I figured you'd say that monkeynautt since you were already saying the same thing months ago before the first previews of the movie had even come out.

I saw it today. While I like Star Trek, this one defenitly broke the odd even rule. It was mearly the rath of kan angin. I dont mind repeats, but not when its the same plot elements.

Even though ill admit it had a wrath of kahn feel to it there were enough differneces to make it its own movie and own story line.

The movie left out detail's that could have been subplots. One detail was on Wesley Crusher. From what I rember he left to go with the Traveler and that thier was bearly com. between the Traveler and rest of space. Than how did he know that Riker and Troi where getting married, where his powers inclined to be able to be as powerful as Q's. Plus another problem was a cliff hangers from the other sereis. We know that Voyager has gotten home but what a happened afterward, beside Janeway go up in rank. Some may wonder way Picard didn't become an admiral is because he does not want to leave the seat as captain of such a fine crew who is now starting to seperate form the ship. This might lead to Picard leave StarFleet or becoming a admrial. With DS9 it would have to have it's own series of movies to help us understand what happened to each of the differnt crew members beside just Worlf.

Here is a article saying that Activision is suing Viacom the company that holds the Star Trek seris rights because they say that Viacom is killing the Star Trek francise. I own about 5 star trek games from serveal companys and Activision created best and most interactive games for star trek francise. I think that Activision is right because Nemis was flob and Enterprise is not getting good ratings.
In its complaint, which was filed in the Superior Court of the State of California on June 30, 2003, Activision accused Viacom of breaching its fundamental promise to continue exploiting the Star Trek franchise consistent with its practice at the time the agreement was signed in 1998. "Activision cannot successfully develop and sell Star Trek video games without the product exploitation and support promised by Viacom. A continuing pipeline of movie and television production, and related marketing, is absolutely crucial to the success of video games based on a property such as Star Trek," charged Activision in its court filings.

However, through its actions and inactions, Viacom has let the once proud Star Trek franchise stagnate and decay. Viacom has released only one "Star Trek" movie since entering into agreement with Activision and has recently informed Activision it has no current plans for further "Star Trek" films. Viacom also has allowed two "Star Trek" television series to go off the air and the remaining series suffers from weak ratings. Viacom also frustrated Activision's efforts to coordinate the development and marketing of its games with Viacom's development and marketing of its new movies and television series.

The complaint goes on to state: "By failing and refusing to continue to exploit and support the Star Trek franchise as it had promised, Viacom has significantly diminished the value of Star Trek licensing rights including the rights received by Activision. Moreover, in so doing, Viacom has breached a fundamental term of its agreement with Activision ... and has caused Activision significant damage."

As a result of the breaches by Viacom, Activision has terminated the agreement and filed a complaint seeking to recover the damages it has suffered and will suffer as a result of Viacom's failure to abide by its agreement, and its stated intention to continue to breach its agreement, and seeks the return of the warrants now wrongfully in Viacom's possession.

The company expects that the court filing and the termination of the agreement with Viacom will have no material impact on its previously provided first quarter and fiscal year earnings outlook.
