Probably nothing, but I guess we'll find out once this person returns
It's too bad they restrict the Adult program dates... I understand why they do so but still...

Wish I could afford it right now... cannot. I'm still hoping I can go with Kemara next fall to ASA... but now that I've been "impacted" (aka, kicked out, layed off, uh... get outta here)... that's in jeopardy.

It would be interesting to be in the middle of a mission and Mission Control call over and wish the crew a Happy New Year or do something interesting like that. I'd love to usher in the new year like that. Would be very cool.
Of course, ushing in the new year from Space would be better, but I'll take what I can get =)

It would be cool to be doing the EDM and have the new year begin during the mission. Dehydrated champagne anyone?

Well i would think extending the cerfew so you can ring in the new year would be the least they could do.

Well that depends alot on your counselors too. When i went to Aviation Challenge Intermediate (Mach 3) and Advanced Space Academy our counselors let us stay out beyond cerfew several times. And somehow i doubt they would make you go to bed beforte midnight on new years eve.
New Year's

I was in the same session as ISSpacegirl. Campers and Academy watched the ball drop at 11:00 on TV in the cafeteria (remember the time diff, so it was midnight in New York). We in ASA had the option of going to bed or staying up, so most of us stayed up and talked in the cafeteria. It wasn't too exciting. Earlier in the vening, we had a contest to dress up out counselor as a holiday icon. We in Von Braun dressed Drea up as an angel, which got lots of laughs. We won little Dollar Store goodie bags with candy and gum.
