Is there any news about whether the coup in Turkey is affecting Space Camp Turkey? I have heard that educators are being arrested, but I haven't been able to find anything online as to whether Space Camp is OK.

I've been wondering the same thing.

Some of my initial thoughts after hearing the news were of Space Camp Turkey too. Their latest Facebook post was some photos of a video conference with Sunita Williams on Friday.

I wasn't nearly as surprised at the coup d'état attempt in general as I was how long it's been since the last one. They had one every decade until 1980 and were kind of overdue given the shifting political sands of the region in a post-9/11 world.
As I understand it, the coup attempt was focused around Ankara, which is several hundred miles to the East of where SC Turkey is in Gaziemir, near the coast. That said, there was a lot of drama in plenty of other parts of the country, especially in and around Incirlik where NATO keeps several ... 'special' weapons.
The biggest potential issue for SC Turkey is that although the attempt doesn't seem to be supported everywhere in the country (hence, why it failed) Erdogan is engaged in an expected post-coup-attempt witch hunt, gutting his government of everyone in key positions who might have had anything to do with this. That means that everything is up in the air for now, bureaucratically-speaking.

I know they cancelled Space Camp in Turkey for this week. I'll see if I can find out more.

Turmoil in the region has hurt attendance significantly and the coup caused a lot of foreign groups to cancel. Usually when turmoil in the region happens they focus heavily on their Turkish program and when things calm down try to again focus on the international program. Two goals of SCT really, one is to provide Space Camp to Turkish kids and the other is to foster "Global Friendship Through Space Education", a non-profit that helps bring together people from different cultures. I used to work for both of these but am not affiliated anymore.
