I hope so too and normally i would think it would work out fine but with so little advertising i doubt it.

Those who are fans will know all about it. While not the same thing, the theater next to Pleasure Island (Disney World) has been doing "movie flashback" weekends and have been able to get some great flicks to show - from the 80s. It wasn't advertised either but I was surprised at the turnout.

So, I'm sure this'll be somewhat similar.

Most museums don't market themselves very well. Either it be from lack of money or lack of folks who know any better.

Our Orlando Science Museum is one of those. They have a great facility... they just don't advertise much. Of course, they're hurting for money too...
It's a shame to see a Cinedome movie and see 75% of the seats go empty...

Oh the museum isnt really hurting for money. Between the money we get from the city, as well as revenues from ticket sales and contracts we have with several public school systems and support from NASA they arent hurting in that department. The problems is the offices upstairs including marketing are run by a bunch of idiots. The sad thing is they have been their so long noone will think to replace them. The museums director is friends with most if not all of them so hes not going to get rid of them. The other problem is its like the hand (The downstairs management) doesn't know what the brain (the upstairs management) is doing. An example of this is the Lion King opening december 25th at Midnight. Marketing decided the day and the time but without talking to visitor services to make sure they can get people willing to work on their only guaranteed day off. Another example with marketing they schedule all the tour groups that come through. Problem is they pay no attention to what they are doing. They schedule 800 middle school kids at the same time of the morning all to get a tour of the museum and a movie. They then send the schedule down to my boss to sort it all out and try to get enough volunteers in to give the tours. It can ussually be done but the programs really suffer because the museum gets so crowded your spending more time trying to find some place to take your group of up to 20 or so kids.

Well i went and saw Star Wars Episode 2 in Imax today. It was awesome to see it on the big screen and you see much more detail to everything. Unfortunately like Apollo 13 they also cut some stuff out to make it exactly 2 hours but i still say go see it.
