The Weekend!

Post by monkeynautt »

I'm so glad it's the weekend. My week was so busy. And for me it's a long weekend because Thanksgiving is on Monday.

Yay! Enjoy your Canadian day of Thanks...

And if you'll enlighten me culturally... what DO Canadians do on their Thanksgiving?

Tonight I get to go see Apollo 13 in the IMAX. Since I never got to see it in the theatre I can't wait. It sucks though because some scenes were edited to make it an "educational" experience. But I still can't wait. I hope the Star Wars comes to one of the IMAX theatre's here. i know it's showing at the Space & Rocket Centre because they've been advertising on their website.

I saw Apollo 13 in Imax last week and they didnt cut a whole lot out of the movie just a few minor details youd never notice unless youd seen it before and some you might not even notice then. As for Star Wars i know our local Imax in Virginia is getting it in November. Best part is i get in free since i volunteer their i can see it as many times as i want for free. That is unless Lucas decides to be a pain and say no free passes to it. He did that with Episode 1 and 2 when they were in regular theaters. Unfortunately he has total control obver his films and he makes the decision not the theater showing it.

I went to starwars.com and found out that it is being show at the IMAX in Edmonton at West Edmonton Mall so I'll be able to go to it. It's only 30 minutes from my house.

Star wars should look great in Imax. Too bad their weren't any major space battles in episode 2. But the land battle should look great and Yodas light saber battle with Dooku. Hopefully they will do a Star Trek movie next. So what did you think of Apollo 13?

I stopped counting because it was too much. They even editted a bunch of the swears which sucked because it added drama.

Personally their wasnt anything that was that important taken out of the movie in my opinion. I was suprised they cut the weddinf ring being lost out of the movie and suprised they left Siggert talking about the probe to the girl at the party.

I hate to say it but if the local imax theater isnt showing it a;ready it probably wont be coming. Not all of the Imax theaters are going to show it.

I'll probably see Episode 2 in imax the weekend it opens. For some reason our museum's marketing department is run by a bunch of baboons who arent advertising Episode 2 hardly at all so i should have no problem getting into it. Foir some reason the museum feels the need to advertise the Lion King in Imax more and it isnt opening till christmas day.

I never said the Lion king wasnt a good movie. It just makes no sense that they would advertise it more than a movie thats opening before it.

Well with even more stupidity the museum is holding a big opening event for the movie on thursday night friday morning at with the first showing at 12:01 am. In theory it sounds like a good idea but with kids stll in school and most fans having already seen it the first time it was in theaters how many people are going to go see star Wars episode 2 again that late at night before they have work or school the next day. I'm sure their will e a few but not the crowd they expect. Plus the only advertising for the event that happens this coming thursday night is on their web page.
