Flightsuit sizes?

Can anyone help me out with flightsuit sizes?

I won a Space Camp adult and a child's size flightsuit in a contest recently and I'm having trouble figuring out what size to request. Sprokets sent me the size list, but all it gives is height and weight guidelines. That's great for people who are stick shaped. For those of us with a few more curves (particularly women), not so much.
I've asked for the actual suit measurements and for more information about the suit manufacturer, in hopes of finding dimensions on their website but have not received anything back other than an offer to help me figure out the size if I can confirm height and weight.

So, can anyone help me out? For the adult flightsuit, I'm trying to decide between an XL and XXL. Last time I was at camp, I found the L a little snug so I wore an XL. I'm a little bigger now, but I'm not certain how much, so I'm not sure which size to get.

If you're willing, putting out your stats (measurements, that is) could get your answer.
For example, I'm 6 feet tall, about 190, wear a size 44 jacket most of the time (42 if it's cut large) for my shoulders, and wear either a 36 or 38 inch waist pait of pants. An XL suit works just fine for me and a XXL is very lagre on me...

I am female, about 175 lbs and 5 foot 7. I have been wearing a large flight suit for the last few camps and it still fits, but is the old light blue. I decided last week to get a new darker blue suit and decided to go with the XL. I wear my suit often over other clothes and I like the extra room. I did not find it to be too roomy at all. Over pants it was just perfect.

If only women's clothing came in sizes that made any sort of sense (and came with adequate pockets). Anyway, I'll try to take and post measurements tonight.

In the meantime, if anyone has access to an XL or XXL suit and can get me a measurement of the "width"/measurement across the suit at the chest (or waist or hips, since it should the same that would be helpful. I'm much less concerned with the height.

They have also changed the sizes around a bit in the past five years as well, due to change in manufacturers. In 2004 and 2007 I was an XXS but last year I was a youth 18, which was slightly taller and narrower than the XS. (They don't make XXS any more.) I'm 62", size 4 (Canadian), 32" chest, and 118 pounds and the Y18 fit with some wiggle room. My husband is 71", size 34 waist, size 36 suit jacket, and 167 pounds and fit a size medium quite well.

If you post the size chart (which used to be on the website but is now missing) maybe some recent campers and/or locals can let you know if theirs fit within the specified range. The old size chart used to have chest measurements for the youth sizes as well.

You may want to check the arm and leg lengths as well, since those were the biggest issue for me (fitting the body whilst still having long enough arms and legs).

Okay, here's the size/height/weight decoder ring that I was sent:

Size Weight (lbs) Height
Youth 8 35-40 3'-3'6"
Youth 10 35-40 3'6"-3'9"
Youth 12 40-50 3'9"-3'11"
Youth 14 50-60 3'11"-4'2"
Youth 16 60-70 4'2"-4'5"
Youth 18 70-85 4'5"-4'7"
Youth 20 85-100 4'7"-5'2"
Adult S 100-120 5'2"-5'6"
Adult M 120-145 5'6"-5'9"
Adult L 145-170 5'9"-5-11"
Adult XL 170-200 5'11"-6'2"
Adult XXL 200+ 6'2"+

Based on this, I need an adult small for height and an adult XL for weight.
(My measurements - hips 48", chest/bust 41").

So I'm guessing an adult XL should work. But it sure would be nice to have an actual measurement of the flight suit. I'll try calling the giftshop tomorrow or Friday.

I think that chart is off, way off, because the chart says I would be a size Small (both for height and weight) and I was swimming in it. Same goes for my husband: the chart says he is at the very upper limit for size Large but he fit well into the Medium and the Large would have been too big. Something's not right with this chart, almost like it's a size off. You're best off checking the measurements by calling the gift shop.

I agree. By that chart, an XXL would be just a wee bit roomy for me. I tried one on once and I was practivcally swimming in the thing.

I took out my tape measure and measured my new XL flightsuit this morning. Hips are 48 inches and Chest is 53 inches. Waist is about the same as hips but has adjustable Velcro to make it smaller.

this has always bugged me about the space camp flight suits. Military flight suits come in sizes and lengths so you can more easily pick the right size for your build and height. Space camp suits just come in sizes. Problem with that is the bigger the size the taller the suit. So a short larger built person or a really tall really thin person has a hard time finding a size that works for both height and weight.

Thanks. This is what I was looking for. I think I'm going to go with an XL. They've said that if the size doesn't work they are willing to exchange it (hopefully with free shipping).

Also, I finally talked to someone who could measure the actual suits for me. I just asked for a measurement at the waist. Although I'm not entirely certain her measurements are correct. But, here's what she gave me:
L 20.5" across (so 41" around)
XL 22" (44)
XXL 22.5" (45)

I'm wondering if what she thought was an XXL was really just another XL and her measurements aren't terribly precise (she did say she was using a "contractor's tape measure"). But at least I was able to talk to someone.

I was also told that the kids flight suits run "a little small".

Thanks for all your help.
