I imagine everyone's pretty slammed right now with trying to organize the Hall Of Fame *AND* getting the STA in place by then. Honestly, if I have to wait until October to get all of the perks, I'm fine, as long as we get the STA situated and have a great Hall Of Fame event! I'll be at Sprocket this weekend, so perhaps I can get us an update on things.

Other than the patches at the $50 perk level, has anyone received any of their perks? I wrote to
Trevor yesterday, but no reply yet.

Conan, can I ask if the poster was part of your perks? Last I heard, more than a month ago,
was that they were still out for one more autograph. What perks did you receive last week?

Yes, the Poster was the level that I gave at and I also got a key chain, astronaut ice cream and a bumper sticker which were the lower levels. It just came in last week. I had sent them a message askin about it. That might have made a difference.

Yeah, I've sent two e-mails so far, no response.

That stinks. They seemed so proactive there for a while. Still, they did get the money they were looking for, I'd hate to think they considered the goal reached so therefore it wasn't that big a deal to commit to what was promised to the donors (especially someone like you, who I'm sure dropped some mad coin on this)... :|

My faith in the STA Team has never waivered, it's the U.S. Postal Service that worries me!

Woo hoo! My perks arrived today. The shirt is fantastic! Logo on front breast, poster artwork on back of shirt. The poster itself is signed by Hoot, Steve Nagel, Owen Garriott, Blaine Hammond, and Don Thomas. There were even notes from Trevor and Dr. Barnhart, which was really nice. I'm hanging the patch in my cubicle next to my Thiokol team patch. Watch your mail box!

Any word on when the STA will be moved over to the center?

Last I heard, it is expected to be moved onto the premises before August 8. It may be in pieces (wings removed), but should be on the property in time for the Hall of Fame. At least, this is what we're hoping for. Fingers crossed!

I sure it is, for all the people going in August. When I'm there this Fall, it doesn't have to be complete or in the full display area, I just want to see that old bird again!

Here it is being reassembled and cleaned before it goes up on the display mounts. I'll get some better shots when I go visit next week. It should be up on the mounts by then.

She looks good! She'll be getting a bath soon, and stairs so you can get up and see inside the cockpit.

Ribbon cutting and dedication will kick off Summerfest in July.

Looking good! I hope they coat the windows and inside with UV-resistant coatings so they don't deteriorate in the blazing Alabama summer sun.

How is the amphitheatre area shaping up? They had the major steps carved into the ground when I was there last (2015) but I haven't seen anything since.

If I recall correctly, the amphitheatre is a part of Phase II of the project, and will have its own fundraiser. I expect we'll find out more about that after the ribbon cutting on July 13.
