Why do I need to bring duct tape to SPACE camp...? should it be
COLORED?
Here are the ideas I thought of...
~Mischievious reasons I dare not speak of ~
~Duct tape paintings ~
~Tape funny signs every where... ~
~If the upstairs people find the locker crack and be noisy... ~
~TRAPS! ~
So WHY do we need to bring duct tape? All responses will be answered!
What is the duct tape for?

Beats me why tape is mentioned so often.
In the Army, we used it all the time, mostly to secure straps on our web gear, weapons slings, stuff like that. It also makes a good bandage, but only if you have nothing else...
I'd like to know how practical it really is at Camp, as I have 3-4 rolls of what we always called, "100 mile and hour" tape...

You don't NEED duct tape. But it does come in useful, just as it does in every day life...plus the odd "I need to duct tape this person to the chair because they've gone crazy and this is the only restraint we have" situation, particularly on the longer missions.
The nice thing about the silver stuff is that it's cheaper/comes in bigger roles than the patterned stuff. But it is fun to have different colors/patterns. I'm fond of the yellow and bright green colors myself.
And make sure you pack your duct tape in your checked luggage if you're flying. Some TSA agents will confiscate large rolls of duct tape if it's in your carry-on.

Duct Tape
Duct tape is also useful on your shuttle mission to keep things from floating away in the simulated microgravity environment inside the orbiter. If you just set your tools down, a "helpful" ghost could make them float away. But if you duct tape them to the wall, they will stay.

I can't imagine how much duct tape residue there must be all over the place, then.
As for taping people to chairs, I'd be hesitant to do that, because the last time I saw someone do that, it got really ugly (but then again, the tapee was an Army ranger and we were in the field so we were all in a very surly mood), some noses and fingers got broken.
