No, not yet. I still have one more payment to make for the session coming up next month. <g> The Sept. 14-19 would probably work best for me, though. I'll go for MS...I did PS last year and at SA. I'm doing MS next month...you'll never get me in the pilot's seat! I'm better at taking orders than giving them. Just ask my ISS crew when I was station commander last year for Alpha mission. A total fiasco!

Hehe... I was never good at giving orders either so maybe I'll go for something else as well :)

Right now, I'm looking at the first two weeks in September (3rd week is out for me right now) and all of October. October is probably going to be the best time for me.

Ahh well, maybe we'll make this work afterall.

Certainly if the Pilot track is open by the time I register, I will go for that... if not, MS track because I liked doing my EVA, even though it was hard work just floating there.

Well as an MS at asa you will either be at the end of Enterprises arm or suspended from the superman harness. No more of floating off the floor in a 5 DF now youll be in a cargo bay high above the ground.

I hated that 5df chair after my EVA.

I can imagine the 5Df chairs would get uncomfortable after a while but it was a decent way to simulate movement in Zero G. It certainly beats just standing their on the floor in space suits the whole time. also at ASA you dont wear the space suitsa like you did at camp and academy just your flight suit and a safety helmet.

The simulation was top notch, but difficult. Just picture trying to do work just hanging there with no real support. No one is going to help you maneuver around. You only have a small piece of rope (that you must tie) to the hubble [for me] and then perform your mission. It was one of the hardest tasks I had to do at Academy I... by far. Not that the task at hand was difficult, just MOVING. I tell you I was soaked with sweat after... I wrang it out of my shirt.

Then I had to go into the Freedom module and perform my experiments - Cardiovascular Fitness and Task Disorientation... man, I was so tired by the enxt morning that I *missed* wake up call. I actually MISSED it.. I didn't hear the counselors come in, bang the door, turn on the lights, yell at the top of their lungs and slam the door shut. I didn't wake utill 20 minutes later I think.

I can imagine those suits would get hot to wear after a while and are hard to work in. I know when i went to academy level 1 they gave the MS's ice packs to put on areas of their bodies inside the suit to help them keep cool.

Well i dont know if they worked or not. i do know 3 members of our team got to see how well they worked when someone pulled a fire alarm in the museum during the middle of our Discovery mission. We all had to go out under Pathfinder and our 3 MS's were in their space suits.

The flight suit i was wearing was hot enough. I can;t imagine having to wear one of the space suits outside in the alabama heat.

Trust me, they did...the ice packs are the difference between being really really overheated when you're done and being dead! :D

I'd definately rather have the ice paclks and just be over heated. I'm sure they make some diffrence to the people wearing the suits.
