I'm liking the sounds of this. Here's hoping it leads to stronger alumni communications.

THIS IS AWESOME!! A huge step in the right direction. Next would be promoting this at graduation so that Alumni from here on out get in and stay involved.

Hey all!

Just wanted to touch base quickly regarding the Alumni Community. This is being developed in-house and, as Vincent suspected, I am happily overwhelmed with the response!

I made an adjustment this morning to make it more clear that you can add to and edit your alumni profile. Login and hit "My Account" and then "edit" and you'll see two options. One is your user account (email, password etc) and the other is the user profile- where your attendance, team names and other info live.

We're planning to add some other features soon! Please feel free to contact me here (or email me at work andrewm [at ] spacecamp) if you have ideas for something you might like to see in the community. I'll see what I can do.

Yay! Thank you, Andrew! One thing I see missing is the Adult Advanced Space Academy. It only has Adult Space Academy.

For everyone else, you can add callsigns when you edit your details too. :)

Was that there yesterday and I just didn't see it? I see it now!

It was in a different location, but thanks to your commentary I realized that the function might not have been clear.

Thank you for adding Adult ASA. I updated my profile.

Also, if you include Turkey (which I now see), could you also include Canada? Not that I've been, but it's where I live so I have to chime in.

I've got Canada queued up to add.

Also I have a question for you all. You can comment on Profiles- but does it make more sense to have the most recent comments at the top (think Facebook's wall) or most recent comments at the bottom (think forum software).

You can check out the "Updates" currently as an example of the current comments on top.

Much thanks for the continuing input and suggestions.

Woohoo, thanks for adding Canada.
EDIT: If the comments will be more 'question/answer' type stuff, I prefer the most recent one on the bottom so you read the question before the answer. However, the updates (at the top) should have the newest top.

Can the sight be changed to allow years you served as a counselor to be distinguished from camp attendance. Right now there is no way to distinguish for those of us who have been both.

Did anyone else receive a letter in the post about this? Mine arrived yesterday! It was pretty exciting to see a USSRC envelope in the post box. Yay. (It was the same as the online announcement, just printed on USSRC letterhead.)

Yes, I received the letter in the mail about two weeks ago. It was the first I had heard of the alumni community and I rushed to put in my information. This is a great idea. I hope it leads to more interesting developments for the alumni.

One more suggestion for the alumni community sight. Please put the Original names of the AC programs up their with the appropriate start years through 1996 and the current names for 1997 to the present. The old names are confusing to try to put the modern equivelant with as the names were strange till the adoption of the Mach 1, 2, and 3 names in 1997. Someone posted as being mach 2 when their team was in the equivelant of the mach 3 program in 1996.

The original names and theor program modern equivelants

Aviation Challenge Primary= Mach 1
Aviation Challenge Basic= Mach 2
Aviation Challenge Intermediate= Mach 3

The intermediate name throws people but keep in mind their was no mach 1 equivelant till 1996. I remember because the priginal brochure only had the other 2 programs the primary program was an insert added to advertise the new program. People are equating Intermediate with Mach 2 but it was the high school program in its day not the middle school program. It shares many of the elements of the moern Mach 3 program.
