Crazy Camp Songs

Anyone else have a theme song from the week(s) you were at camp? We had several.

In 1998 there were 'Sweet Home Alabama', the Smurfs theme song, and a whole lot more.

In 1999 one completely random song that kept going around was 'Jesus Freak' by DC Talk. How it got started, I'll never know, but a bunch of us sang bits and pieces of it whenever we were waiting for anything.

In 2004 we had 'I'm a Little Teapot', among others

There were also a few chants that I have since forgot the words to.

(There was a thread about this somewhere but I'm too cold to search for it right now.)

----- On another yet similar note -----

I came across a silly song in my Girl Guide song books that some of you may find amusing. The tune is the same as 'My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean' - all you Scouts and Girl Guides should know that tune, right? If not, sound clips exist on the internet someplace.

The Astronaut's Plea
(Tune: My Bonnie Lies...)

I went for a ride in my space ship,
The moon and the planets to see.
I went for a ride in my space ship,
Now listen what happen to me.

Chorus:
Bring back, bring back, Oh bring back my spaceship tome, to me.
Bring back, bring back, Oh bring back my spaceship to me.

I went for a ride in a spaceship,
The capsule was crowded and I,
Developed a cramp in my muscles,
So I decided to walk in the sky. (Chorus)

I went for a walk in my spacesuit.
The ship was controlled from the ground,
And someone in charge down at NASA,
Forgot I was walking around. (Chorus)

Ahhh... camp songs... they are cheesy and silly and make you smile, laugh, and roll your eyes all at the same time.

Well, when I went in 1997, one of the guys had a huge crush on a girl named Anne. So, he walked around singing "I Want Candy" but changed the words to "I Want Annie". He was even singing it over the system during our EDM.
