Wow, I can't believe no one has commented on the Davidson/Saturn V Center pictures on the main page! The vehicle looks amazing. I can't wait to see it for myself when I come down to visit the Rocket Center again this summer. If any of you are around the Rocket Center, please post more pictures of the Saturn and the new USSRC lobby as well if you get a chance!
Oh BTW, any word on possible alumni Camp dates this summer, or are we only going to get those every 25 years???

Haven't heard any specific dates for an alumni camp only that it was looking like it would be a regular thing. That coming from one of the management at the camp a couple months ago. right now i'm planning to go down for the hall of fame and apollo saturn reunion which is all in weekend. If they do an alumni camp though i want to go to it instead. Maybe alumniandi can tell us something.

I attended a conference at the Davidson Center three weeks ago. When I was there, they weren't quite done with the museum set-up, but the Saturn V looks amazing!

The interview with Buzz Aldrin and Charlie Duke I watched in the lobby.

Me with Mini-Astronaut (seriously, the model is shorter than I am, and I'm 5'1").

Me driving a "lunar rover" (which I probably wasn't supposed to be sitting in, shh, don't tell!).
Edited to add: The image tags aren't working.

Chris, Nathan, my fiance (he had never been to USSRC), and I visited the new center on Saturday. It really was great! Once I get a little rest-we just landed about 50 minutes ago-I will post the few photos that I took.

The 'flying machine' is the William Quick monoplane that until recently, hung over Intrepid on the MCC floor! I'm delighted it was moved. Now it will be noticed. I got a chance to meet his granddaughters at the opening of the Davidson Center. Energetic and spunky 90+ year old women!

Ah, neat, thanks! If they had a sign there about it, I didn't notice it. But like I said, the museum displays weren't completely finished when I was there.

The sign is on a easel up stairs, right as you enter the main room. It's easy to overlook! I do know it was there the night of the Gala.
As everyone else has said, the rocket looks spectacular. I've walked it's length countless times telling trainees about it, but in this building it looks HUGE!!! Irene is still working on moving the rest of the exhibits there, but it is already an awesome showcase.

Through the photos (as I have not been to HSV since August) it looks a lot like the Saturn V building at KSC, only better.
Which exhibits were moved to the Davidson Center? Are the lunar rover and lunar lander (from the museum) in there now too? The Apollo wall?

PS - If anyone has way too much time on their hands, could you search out the two bricks my team bought and take a photo?

Academy 8-day 2004
You know, because I'm curious and all. Any photo of the Apollo Walk will do...
EDIT: Thanks Vincent!!

I've not been in since week before last, but at that time the showcases for each Apollo flight had been moved over. The plan is to eventually have the entire Apollo exhibit moved to the Davidson Center.

Right now there is a smattering of artifacts in the Davidson Center. Some of artifacts include Pete Conrad’s Apollo launch suit, the glass cases talking about the Apollo missions, some models that where in storage and/or where in the main museum, and random things such as a SSME. From the artist renderings they have posted thorough out the center it looks like they plan to move the all Apollo Era stuff from the main museum and storage and also add more. Also in the Davidson center is a Digital 3D theater, a new gift shop, and the ornothopter that hung over the MCC (or TCF for us old folk).
