We never made water rockets when i went to camp or academy ofcourse that was along time ago. We did build regular model rockets though.

Yeah, we made real modle rockets. The old kids always placed bets on which one would explode on the launch pad. One always did. I am proud to say though that it was never mine.

I never had any explode but i did have the rocket the first year come apart in two pieces. But i recovered the payload part which is whats important. And the second year i couldnt recover it because it ended up on the other side of the hiway and they wouldnt let us go and get them.

The second or third trip to camp, I spent more time than usual to construct my rocket...I sanded down all the fins, perfectly glued them to the body, etc..

I had a perfect launch..it went up, came back down...and then half of it got run over by a car!

It had landed with half of it just off to the side of the road that's in front of the rocket launch area...just before we were allowed to go get them, a car came and ran it over! That was a downer...

That really stinks Vince. Hey at least it went somewhere. Just think how much more dissapointing it would have been if it didnt fly or even worse, exploded.

Well when i was at ASA we didnt get to even build rockets. I dont know why we spent enough time playing cards we could have built them and atleast it would have been space related.

one of the times i went, it looked like it was going to rain and the councilors thought we werent going to be able to launch. they discussed giving us the engines untill someone pointed out we werent allowd to carry them on to the plane. luckily, it didnt rain and we were able to launch.

Well although the rain didnt really affect me that week the heat did. Some days it was over 100 degrees and we couldnt do some of the outdoor stuff.

Yeah it did. We couldnt finish area 51 and i dont know why noone thought to do it inside. We didnt get as many space shot rides as we could have either. Other than that their wasnt too much we missed.

Yeah it did kind of stink but not as bad as our day counselor just skipping stuff because she didnt want to do it and then making us play cards instead. The biggest thing we missed because of this was our museum time.
