August Alumni Session
I am at the point now that I am planning on being at the August Alumni session but first I have to wait until my next pay check in two weeks. If I can't afford it, can't get the days off, or something gets in the way I plan on at least being there for one night. I am wondering who else is planning on attending the next session.

I am considering it.
Unfortunately, I have to go to St. Louis first and deal with some unpleasant stuff with my mother who has Alzheimers. So I get done with summer camp/school; go to St. Louis; go to Huntsville, and then school starts again. I was thinking how stressful that sounded. SC is fun but it is not exactly relaxing, otoh, it is exciting, so maybe that would be good. So those are my issues. I do have the money, now that I am getting paid in full for summer (there was some question as my enrollment was so low).
So anyway, that's kind of how it stands with me. So I hope I can work it out. I imagine they will have the slots for me to wait a bit to decide. I think the bigger deal is that I get the plane ticket low as possible. There isn't a good way to get from NM to Huntsville!

I had such a great time last weekend that I want to go to the August Alumni Camp. But, I don't think I can. I do, however, at least plan to be there for the weekend so at least I can ATO with you guys. And who knows, maybe they'll let us bum around with the group.
We'll see how the next 30 days goes.

I'm booked for August and paid in full. I wonder how many slots total for the Aug session? And how many teams?
Hey quick question... I was thumbing through the Hab1 site and saw a photo of the USSRC from the air. I noticed in the photo that there was a Saturn V standing by the space shot. When did they add that? I just remember the Sat V on the ground and the standing Sat 1B when I was there last. Is the Sat 1B still around? Wow its been a while.

I think the sign at camp said that it was put up in 1999.airkale wrote:I'm booked for August and paid in full. I wonder how many slots total for the Aug session? And how many teams?

And I am so jealous of those of you going to camp (and those of you going back to camp Apollo!). You will have a great time!

Alumni Andy told me that right now they are holding at one team for the August session.
The Saturn 5 was built sometime in the 90's I am not sure about when. The Standing Saturn I-IB is still standing in her glorious place in the Rocket Park.

Its great to hear of this new addition to rocket park. However, it begs the question, is the standing Sat V a mockup? After all you just can't find these things laying around places...

The standing Saturn V was built in 1999 for the 30th anniversary of Apollo 11. It is a replica and the real one is still laying right where it use too atleast for a couple more weeks till its moved into the new Saturn V center.

I'm in the same boat. I'd like to come back for one more round before the end of summer, even if only as a visitor and not a camper. I earned a free stay at the Marriott so my excuse could be to use that!Richasi wrote:I had such a great time last weekend that I want to go to the August Alumni Camp. But, I don't think I can. Sadly I have decided against it. I have to go to St. Louis and stay longer than I usually do. Then I start school (well work for me) on something like the 7th. So there is almost no recovery time in between. My camp this summer was pretty wild and I am not exactly looking forward to work as we are getting all new support staff. And who knows what that will be.
I hope everybody has fun though.
