A friend of mine in Huntsville who use to be a bus driver for the space and rocket center just sent me this news story from the Huntsville Times. Aparently this morning the center's bus barn caught fire. Noone was hurt and only the bus barn was affected.

Oh and if you look the picture caption is wrong. It says yhe smoke can be seen behind the Saturn !-B replica but in fact its the Saturn V replica and the museum has a Saturn 1 not a 1B

not a bad picture though...looks as if the Sat 5 is about to lift off!!

You are right about the Saturn V but you are half right with the Starturn 1. It has the body of a Starurn 1 but it has the tail fins of a Saturn 1-B .

Actually i'm not sure that the fins were diffrent between the two though i may be wrong. I know early Saturn 1's had no fins however later missions which is the way that one is set up to look did have fins.

Yeah...it took 2 hours to put the fire out!

I am very grateful nobody was hurt fire and vehicles don't mix. I have seen various vehicles fires and they are not a pretty sight. Does anybody know if any vehicles where damaged?
