Hab1.com - New Patches

So I have it in my head to create another batch of Hab1.com patches for the upcoming 25th Anniversary festivities (some around here might remember the first round).

If you're planning to be down there for the festivities, the June alumni camp, or the August alumni camp, be sure to hit me up for one.

If you don't think you'll be able to make it down and would like one (or 10) anyway, they're probably going to run somewhere around $4 per patch (perhaps more, perhaps less...that's just a ballpark figure for now). Or if you just want to help up the order quantity and lower my cost, I won't stop you!

I'm trying to figure out how many I should order, so vote above and provide some sort of feedback.

Here's what the old patch looks like (courtesy of monkeynautt):

The new one will look more-or-less the same. There will be a minor change or two to distinguish it from the first batch.

These turned out really well the last time. And Ben has been kind enough to help me out this time around too, so I'm sure things will turn out just as well this time!

I won't make it down to Alabama but I'll buy a few.

I'm not going but I'll buy two as well. One for my Girl Guide camp blanket and the other for my backpack or something. Who knows...

Ben was pretty sure he got them made at http://www.americanpatch.com/, so I'll probably go with that (because the place that did them last time did wonderfully, I felt).

There are many places on the internet that will make patches though.

I agree, the patches turned out great. And we even got them 2 for 1 because of delays.

I looked back at what I paid last time - they cost about $6 each.

I'm going to try to get a higher volume of patches this time around which will reduce the price.

Vincent and I were discussing what we were going to change for this new round of patches and I thought you guys might have some suggestions. Do you like the slogan? Perhaps a different angle on the shuttle (btw, the one in the patch is actually Pathfinder)? A different number/arrangement of stars?

We'd like the change to be small but noticeable, I think.

We seem to be getting a lot more people from AC. One idea is to change the rocket that has USSRC to a fighter jet or something to include AC.

I like the idea of changing the rocket to a jet. Not sure what you would use, but an F-35 might be cool, as its going to be flown by the Air Force, Marines and Navy. And it's the future of US fighters.

Also, what about changing the number of stars to 5, one for every five years Space Camp has been around? Make it a subtle 25 year anniversary bit.

What do you think? It's just a mockup, the real patch will be like the photo Vincent posted above.

go with a darker, navy blue background (the red text is hard to read on royal blue). Also, make the shuttle larger. shrink the jet too so that it is about the same size as the shuttle stack for a more balanced look.

on a related note, i am having my patch from my 1992 Thiokol team made (since Campers didn't get their patches made for them back in those days).

If anyone would like one of these, let me know. I will be placing the order soon and will have a few left over.

If you're going to go with the F-22, make sure to take the nose boom off of it. Also, I still would prefer the JSF/F-35, as it's used by three services, rather than just the Air Force and will be flown by more international militaries. It actually looks very similiar to the F-22 but is smaller and has a single engine.

Many pictures can be found here:

I made the changes you suggested, Hotdog. Gt, I took the nose boom off, but I don't know if you're really going to be able to tell the difference between the planes. It's only a 3" patch.
