Worst Aviation-themed book ever written. Tried to take all the best parts from Top Gun, Flight of the Intruder, and Red Dawn and incorporate them into a techno-thriller.
Absolutely awful.

No....the worst was Flight of the COndor.
This was about the use of soviet rail gun tecnology mounted on a sub.
Atlantis is on the pad and damaged by a earthquake (at the cape)
So the old military shuttle (not the X-71) Condor is brought out of mothballs and flown into space.
Tile of the book....Flight of the Condor.
# of times the shuttle Condor is referenced in the book.....4.

America's most advanced defensive surveillance satellite is hurtling towards Earth, leaving the United States susceptible to a surprise attack from the Soviet Union. As the Russians prepare to deliver a lethal nuclear blow, the fate of humanity will be fought on two battlefields--beneath the ocean and in outer space.

That, of course, or ANY of the Wingman series by Mack Maloney. What a crock! I love how the main character (Hawk Hunter) can suddenly rewire his vintage T-birds F-16 to carry six .50s in the nose - and more armament than an A-6 with one little bitty GE engine......

Just kidding, you know we all love the guy.
Those books are just hideously awful. Makes me fully conscious of the fact that we can publish.
How about "Roundtable: The Black Knight Anthology"?

Actually that might be pretty good. I still want to hole up at the beach and get this thing going.
