What do you Tomcats don't have a reverse gear!!!

A place for ACers to come and hang out after a hard day of escape-and-evade or survival training.

What do you Tomcats don't have a reverse gear!!!

Post by Spanky »

True Story:

At the Oceana, Va, Naval Air Station, I was training a young ground-crew member on how to direct an F-14 into the fuel pit. I glanced over to check wing clearance and, when looked back, discovered that he had taxied the aircraft too far forward from the fuel hose to reach.

"You'll have to send him around again," I informed the trainee.

"What?" he said, surprised. "They spend millions on these things and you can't put them in reverse?"
"We only have a short time to live, so it is essential to do things that are worthwhile and to do them now."Lord Baden-Powell

as of right now they will ot be closed or have anything done to them unless JAX decides that they want to open Cecli again and they said in december that they didnt, so it looks like Oceana will be safe for a while

the condition with that recomendation was that if cecil field were to reopen that they would move the fighter wings there, but the city of Jacksonville decided not to reopen it and suggested that they moved them to NAS JAX, but the navy said no, cecil or nothing, so therefor unless they come up with somewhere else to move the squadrons to they will stay iat Oceana
