Man It's only 9:04am and I've been having a rough day already, but something to smile about, it's 36 years since Apollo 11!!! So yay for that. I'm actually taking a break from class to post this. See y'all later~
9:27 here...
I know you already know all this but-
July 20, 1969- Moon landing, Sea of Tranquility by astronauts Armstrong, Aldrin, and Collins
December 11, 1972- Most RECENT (I won't say last!!!) moon landing- Cernan, Evans, Schmidt
Learned this bit in 9th grade bio (so I ask, why am I STILL having to take bio NOW (that's my summer class btw)-
one theory about the origin of the moon is that it came from a piece of the earth knocked off by a Mars-sized meteorite
Not sure on the exact things here, but 1 revolution around the Earth for the moon is about one Earth month, and it has the same rotation ? speed/length/whatever as the Earth. (that's from meteorology:))
and it pulls the tides.
going to go take a quiz...

thank you for the correction. It really hasn't been my day. I wish you could've taken my place for my bio quizWho wrote:Our moon doesn't rotate.
Now what is really wierd, Plutos moon, Charon, is in stationary orbit. So it sits in the sky, always in the same spot.
So... Charon doesn't revolve around Pluto, it just sits there? Wow.

Wow, so it really is...stargazer0105 wrote: Haha! Zoom all the way in on the map of the moon.
I won't finish that for those who haven't seen it.
I was in bio today (grarr all 6 hours of it *sick*) & I told the guy behind me that it's been 36 years since the lunar landing and he told me, "The human lunar landing you mean."... ook well then. I'm now convinced he's an alien and knows something I don't. (j/k).
